My baby is gigantic.

I keep telling WC that there must be some amazon blood in his lineage. There aren't tall women in my family.

At 2 months old today she's two feet tall, and a couple ounces over thirteen pounds. She ranks in the 95th and 97th percentile for her age in these categories. The doc says there's nothing wrong with her weight (I was concerned I may have been overfeeding her) because she's proportionate, and she's breast fed not bottle fed so she's not being fattened up by her diet like livestock.

She is also developmentally doing awesome. The doc was pleased with what she saw, and can't wait to see how advanced she is in a couple of months.

She was a little cranky while waiting for the doc in the examining room, so I walked her over to the print on the wall. She's still fascinated by artwork. It was a crude childlike painting of a horse and sunflowers. I think she has a thing for horses because she seemed to be fascinated by it.

She got her first series of vaccinations today. She is got stuck in both legs. Considering I have a golfball sized knot in my shoulder from a vaccination I got 5 days ago, I can understand her screaming today. She loves to kick her legs, and now it hurts her to move them. It sucks when you can't take away their pain.

Despite all of her hurting, she was smiling and laughing in her sleep while I was holding her earlier. I love to watch her sleep. I wonder what she dreams about. She laughs, smiles, frowns, has rapid breathing, pouts, and crys in her sleep. What goes through the subconscious of a newborn to cause all of those emotions? I'm going to miss out on so much when I go back to work soon. It sucks.

In celebration of her 2 month birthday I'm going to go bake a pineapple upside down cake. If I eat some she gets some too right? ;p

My sister used to get a hard time from nurses because her little one was too small. You've got the opposite problem. :P

I do the same thing with Tyler. I just to hold him and watch him as he falls asleep and all of the facial expressions he makes. He is getting really big too. 2 inches in 2 weeks is pretty good.

I want to start building her book collection.

I guess I'll start with Dr Seuss and golden books (if they still make those). I'll get her the little house on the prairie set, and the narnia books, and some Lewis Carroll. As a matter of fact, as she get's old enough I'll just give her all of my classic literature books. I'm sure more will come to me. I definitely need to make a list though.

Don't forget Heidi and Anne of Green Gables!

However keep in mind that as her personality develops your recommended reading list may not measure up. When my daughter was going through her Cheetah Girls phase(around age 9)I ran across a modest starter collection of Sweet Valley High books; she had no interest but picked up Angela Knight and Lucy Blue instead and was hooked.

Now at age 14 my daughter's all time favorite book is The Outsiders. She also reads The Uglies series, a broad variety of fantasy romance and Nora Roberts.

Be ready for anything and I recommend shopping for kids books at the local thrift store. Sometimes you can find some real treasures.

When my niece was born, mum and I looked into getting her Beatrix Potter books. They were my favourite, and my sister's. :) Squirrel Nutkin! ♥

I love this little bebeh with all my heart.

Last night I put on a movie that has horses in it to watch, she heard the whinnys and neighs and looked at the TV and proceeded to stare at the TV watching for about 10 minutes. I guess she loves horses too. ♥

I took her to work today to show her to the work people, where I ran into yet another person who had no idea I was pregnant. (Really, wtf people.) Everyone loved her and thought she was adorable. She stared at the artwork in the office. I don't know if it's not a normal baby thing, but even the people at work who have kids noticed her staring at it. They acted like it was unusual. I really need to get some art for her bedroom.

:) A photo of a snake, rat being nice to each other instead of the snake trying to eat the rat... would work I think.

The munchkin likes to look at art.

I need to find some prints to hang in her room. I think I'll start her out with Monet and Van Gogh. We'll see what she likes.
