spoiler alert:

I was thinking of a scene in the first book, and it just doesn't sit well with me. That riding crop scene...

I just have to say... if a mother fucker popped me in the clit with a riding crop... not only would I not orgasm... I would probably punch him hard enough to break his fucking face.

Don't get me wrong... I love pain... just not THERE.

Fifty Shades Darker

(and before we get into a great debate about why I'm reading the second book in a series when I didn't like the first one... I bought the three of them at once because I was given a recommendation that they were really good by a coworker... needless to say I won't be taking any form of recommendations from that skank bag again. I figured I've already wasted the money so I'm going to read them all.)

The second book possesses a great deal more plot. It also possesses a climax, and even a cliffhanger. I find the sex scenes mediocre and boring in this book as well. The authors very inexperienced writing style are still present. I find myself annoyed by the repetitive words, and dull continuous sex. The plot in the series starts to pick up about halfway through this book, and it turns into some crazy, dramatic, almost soap opera like shizzle towards the end. It was better than the first one, but still not all that great.

"It also possesses a climax" considering they're 90% erotica - I laughed so hard at that. :P

I read The Hunger Games and felt the same way. Different authors and writing, but half the stuff you said applies to that series. Repetitive words, lacking in plot, inexperienced and only really picks up halfway through.

I want to read the second book of that series for the same reason too - a friend recommended it, already have the books, may as well read them.

Fifty Shades of Grey

is fifty shades of crap. I was more entertained by fifty shades when the dog ate my crayons and shit a rainbow.

The writing is poor, it's obvious it's this lady's first series. The sex scenes aren't anything spectacular, and the story is nothing to write home about. If your looking for a plot climax, it wont come by the end of the book.

I've heard they're looking to make the story into a movie. I don't see how that'll happen unless it's a porno, since the only thing that book has going for it is the sex.

Yes! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that thinks this. Granted, I picked it up in the store, opened to the middle of the book and read a short bit. That little bit was enough to make me go the other direction.

The exact description I got from a friend was this: "It was as if a 15 year old just learned about BDSM and tried to write a story."

Good to know because I was thinking of buying it, not now.
