My nieces' band dinner was tonight and it's been a wild week trying to track down donations willing to supply foodstuffs for it around 100 people. We were finally able to get a donation of 25lbs of bbq pulled pork but it was frozen and had to be cooked by us then transported to the dinner. My sister and I spent today cooking the pork bbq and I made 2 gallons of baked beans and my favorite chocolate cake. But it's over now and there was plenty of food and everyone had a great time so it was worth it.
Early tomorrow I go to the doctor and I have to say I'm glad as this congestion just won't clear my lungs and I'm tired of coughing all night long. Hopefully he'll have a magic potion that will fix me right up. I don't think a decadron shot is the answer as the last one I got gave me a 550 point sugar ride in 10 hours. I went from 600 to 50 and felt truly awful for a long while after it settled. I don't want another zpac either it just doesn't work well, give me my good old sulfa drugs and my ears should clear up too.
It's strange really being allergic to penicillin it used to be automatic sulfa drugs for any infections especially lung or sinus but apparently they now hoard sulfa drugs as I've read they are one of the only things effective against some of the newer forms of illness roaming about the world. It's funny really no one used to want anything to do with sulfa drugs as they are slower to work and make you incredibly thirsty but for those of us unable to use penicillin based drugs they worked great. Now they keep giving me z pacs which never seem to work or some other form of penicillin derivative that is far enough off to not cause a major reaction such as keflex which makes me sick as a dog to use and doesn't seem to work well either. I've decided from now on I'm just going to get bossy and insist on sulfa meds for any sinus or lung infections.
Anyway I've got lots to get done this next week and I'm tired of feeling this awful.
Lots of things I want to get done today and instead I'm crashed in the chair sick as a dog. I think my sinus infection decided to become pneumonia just for fun.
So got piles of laundry all over to be done as well as cabinets to be organized and junk to be thrown out but I'm just too whipped to even start.
Did make it to walmart yesterday with my sister and VW39.... yep wallie land on the first of the month and it was Derby day too! Can we say insane?
In my defense, my head was so fluffy, I was not really aware of the date. But we survived though it was close a couple of times. Rat has been scarred again and made the appropriate threats of never ever ever again as well as kicking my ass for even suggesting it.
It didn't help that she wasn't able to find anything that she went there looking for but still spent money. I must admit it will be a long time before I want to set foot in that store again myself.
I hope Birdie's weekend is going better!

Better than that....yes! :) We have stayed home except for dinner with his Mom. Mowed the yard, planted a few things, laundry, and lots and lots of homework.
Grrrr... and tonight is all your fault as I spent a hour and a half at that "store from hell" again.
You owe me. Twice. lol
And it is cottonwood season up here, which means I am dying right there with ya- feel better soon. But Walmart? REALLY? WITH Rat? Testing yourself aren't ya...
Rat would really love to be in Denver today with all the snow falling and it still cold there. It's going for the 80's here today (of course with my ac broke). Anyway got lots going on today, 2 doctors apts for my nephew which will keep me from going to my Aunt's funeral/burial but it's so hard these days I have to admit I'm glad for a reason not to do it. My brother will attend to represent our family so one of us will be there at least. Then I have to make a run down to Corbin to drop off some paperwork and pay my gas bill. Then tonight I'm in for some fun, meeting my friends for a Beltane celebration will be the perfect way to fix a rough day. Then maybe this saturday we can go to the flower and garden show up town and enjoy mother nature.
Happy Beltane to everyone and may your spring turn into a beautiful summer.
