Sitting here with the kids watching the olympics and it's US vs Denmark in mens curling. Now this is just a really weird sport but the kids said it looks like shuffleboard on one of their wii games so are watching it. lol
Went to the surgeon at UK Med center today, thinking I was going to be cut loose and I was but only after having another chest x-ray and then being informed that scar tissue had moved my diaphragm which is keeping my right lung from fully expanding. This won't change unless sometime in the future I have lung surgery.... not happening. Then he discussed the sporadic pains, I have that sometimes wrap around my right side from center to center, these it seems are caused by nerve damage from the tube that had to put in after collapsing my lung. These I can expect to continue too. So on one hand he says I've healed great but ...
On the other hand still no school here tomorrow too much snow and too cold for it to melt. The main roads are good but the side or back roads are still a nightmare especially if you head out into the woods where the sun don't shine. lol
I'm not sure who's more upset the kids or me at being shut in another day in each others company, plus school is going to go half the summer as it stands now.
I really hope I can get together with Rat and Birdie this weekend if just to gab for a while. How about it please?

Busy with a banquet Friday night...working Sat at the hospital but can Sat night or Sunday. :)
Guess that means it is us two on Friday. :)
Sorry about the news from the Dr.
*Hugs*
I know it makes Rat happy but I'm done with the snow now. The white world is pretty but I want my green back. Possible 2 more inches tonight and we've already got about 6.
Ostara can't come fast enough for me!

It's snowing here at the moment. I don't even care about it anymore, I'm going to see a lot more of it in the future.
I consider you two to be fairly lucky haha, we rarely ever get snow here. It snowed last weekend for the first time in a long while. But if you get snow alot...I can see how it could become unpleasant. :)
O.O
*runs away with her vodoo snow doll....shaking it as she goes*
Snow!! Snow!!
Cat...we have to do a raid.....find that damn snow voodoo doll and BURN IT!
I like green but then we prolly aren't talking about the same green...
Warmer weather and no snow or icy rain...I couldn't agree more about Ostara getting here.
Just not feeling up to scratch lately, nothing major just a lot of little things all piling up to wear me down. We've been trying to clean up, clear out and paint and all here at home the last month. Finished the biggest part of the painting last night with just 2 back bedrooms left and not even sure what color we're thinking about for them. Our tv tore up in the living room so my sister and I went halves on a flat screen. We got it at a pretty good deal since she went to town bargaining with the salesman. lol I couldn't do it if my life depended but she's fun to watch, work it.
What they don't tell you about it is all the special cords you have to buy and they have them priced outrageously! We got the one we had to have to turn it on after she talked him down to half price on it but the others we came home and ordered from Amazon.com for a fraction of the cost in the stores around here. *Consumer Reports suggested it too*
It came with a stand but after we set it up it was very flimsy and wobbly feeling and with my 5 year old nephew (destruct-o-boy) we just knew he'd turn it right over on himself so we got to looking to mount it on the wall out of his reach more and found those mounting kits all cost 100 or more for any tv larger than 42inches (ours is 47) and then we'd still need something sitting under it for the tv receiver box and the blue ray player and Wii so we ended up paying a bit more than we expected for a wooden cabinet that has a large steel mounting bar on the back hidden behind a wooden brace to mount it on and have it set up now.
It looks really good but the cost ended up meaning we will need to wait for some of the other changes we were wanting to make such as recovering the couch and loveseat. Oh well I'm leaning more toward replacing them anyway as they're just not that comfortable to sit or lay upon.
My brother and his wife are due to visit this weekend which is good and bad since he's my landlord and we're not sure how he'll react to our color choices. lol He told us to paint it anything we wanted but he's the type that paints everything white or off white so it looks clean. Talk about polar opposites from my sis and me!
We've went with a medium cool gray tone though the main part of the house, it's s name is actually "wet pavement" and for the kitchen a green neutral called Tabu. They work well together but we're not happy with the countertop treatment we've used. It's just not holding up well so we may end up having to spring for new ones all too soon, not good but at least it's a small kitchen.
We ordered and it just came yesterday a stainless steel tile backsplash but I'm not sure we can even start it before our company comes so it may be a "on hold" project for a few.
Throw all this dreary weather on top of it all and it's hard to be cheerful about much of anything. I've not seen my friends in 3 weeks or so and I'm missing them something awful but hopefully this sunday we'll get to see a movie and eat dinner together. *keeping my fingers crossed*
Ah well I've dumped enough of my mind in here for today time I get some more done
Was looking over the mentorships and I think I'm doing something wrong. I put a lot of pages up dealing with things on the site from how to do links to simple coding and where to find the easiest information on these topics. I decided to make most of my pages public as this is information that is available freely on the site and I just made it a bit simpler to find. But I got to looking and most of the other mentorships have few if any public pages.
I'm not willing to close it though as I put a lot of work into what I do have there plus it's a great place to practice page coding before I take any risks in the house. lol Also there a few members there who asked to join it even though I warned them it was dead quiet there. Hey if they can stand the crickets chirping I can too!

And some of us you lead there with a cheese trail. :P
I'm going to take a peak!
Back the 1st of October, my young nephew wanted a game for his 8th birthday instead of a regular toy. An online game that is so he showed me the one he wanted from a company called Big Fish Games and I read about it and it was a one time purchase and while I had planned to spend more than that on his present it's what he wanted so I got it and then some clothes (which didn't impress him at all)
But I missed it Nov and Dec with all the stuff going on here but caught it this month when another charge was added to my visa. With the company being on a very different time zone than me I've had a bit of trouble remembering to call them when they'll be open. But yipee today I finally did it and though the wait to be connected to a living person was a bit long but nothing like Dell or my phone company, once I was talking to the gentleman it went really easy.
I explained the problem and he pulled up the account and quickly apologized saying it was a problem they had discovered and had fixed shortly after I placed my order. Apparently instead of just purchasing the game it signed me up for a monthly membership that I didn't even need to play the game. He promised that I would have no further charges from them and when I thanked him expecting that to be the end of it since I was the one who missed the other charges when they happened, but he said I would be refunded all 3 charges within 3-5 days. He would send me an email confirming all this and if I had any other problems use his email add to send it right to him and he'd see I was taken care of correctly.
I cannot say how refreshing it was to be treated both respectfully and politely when calling about a problem. I'm so used to having to argue and try to get through to supervisors to finally get things done (once I get through to someone who actually speaks my language)
See I've discovered something when you take someone in like India doing the service, they almost never understand a heavy southern US accent so we spend forever and a day, saying what? I didn't get that... *gets old fast*
I know that if Austin asks for another game for his next birthday it'll be fine as long as it's from Big Fish Games. lol

When I first saw it I was very confused as how it could be an Olympic sport!! But It goes back to the days of early Scotland. I can see how it would be something to pass the time. The thing they push weighs in at a petite 44 pounds. LOL
