To all who sent prayers, well wishes and good thoughts, candles and cards, thank you so very much.
I've snuck away from my "nurse" for a few to log in and say I'm doing good. Very sore with a few bad turns but all in all a very happy girl.
The biopsy still isn't back, the holidays mean things run really slow. But I'm working on getting my breathing back to normal as I really hate a nagging cough! lol Especially with so many places for it to pull and hurt when I do. :p
I'm going to try and work my way back but still am very uncomfortable so no real good position to sit and use the computer. lol
Anyway the nurse (my sister bless her soul) is telling me it's time for meds and breathing exercises so got to go.
Thanks again for the great messages Rat & Birdie passed along to me, you all are such nice people the world just doesn't know and probably wouldn't believe in some cases. lol
Talk to you all soon and just in case Happy New Year everyone be safe and have a great time.
woo hoo Heart cath is over and there were no blockages!! Apparently it is the tumor pressing so close that caused the stress test to show it. So I got the clearance I needed for UK Med Center and it's a go now.
They went thru the radial artery in my right wrist and I have to admit it was very uncomfortable and even now my arm is very sore. I've got a pressure bandage on it for 24 hours and it's strapped to a board so I don't use it too much. No lifting or much of anything else but then I don't feel like much more than catching up on my missed sleep from last night.

NO HOUSEWORK
Okay has someone opened hunting season and didn't tell me about it? I seem to be the target as the shots just keep on coming.
I needed surgical clearance from my cardiologist so I saw him last friday, he set me up for a stress test and echo on Monday, I went back today for the results and to get the surgical approval which UK Med Center said they had to have by tomorrow no later.
Instead of my approval I was told my stress test shows a blockage in one chamber (nearest the location of the tumor to be removed-lucky me) so instead I go tomorrow for a bunch of blood work and xrays and more I don't even know what so that Friday morning I can have a heart cath done.
My cardiologist did say I would be cleared for the surgery next Tuesday after the cath is done.
So UK just called me back and I explained the situation and told them my cardiologist was familiar with my surgeon and was willing to call him directly if that was needed in order to keep my surgery scheduled. UK's surgical rep was pretty cool, she plans to call my cardiologist office asap and get the same stuff from them but they must have the release in their office by Friday afternoon or I'm screwed! Cross your fingers and toes please!
So I do feel like it's hunting season and I'm the target right now! I've been shaking ever since I left the cardiologist office trying to figure this all out. The crazy thing is if I wasn't needing the tumor removed next week or it wasn't so close to my heart in the first place then I wouldn't need to have the heart cath yet, they use meds and watch it for a bit. Don't that just figure! The only good news he was able to give me was they'd go through my arm for the cath to make it easier on me. Yee Haw!
It's gotten so crazy in my life right now that I'm loosing track of the days and the holiday just doesn't seem real to me at the moment. I hope I come through all this with my sanity and my health back to normal.

TheBan nailed it, for Christmas this year I'll be carved instead of the bird!
Hey I wonder if they'd consider taking a bit of the stuffing out at the same time?
Funny thing is the surgeon told me that after 3 or 4 days they'll let me try eating mashed potatoes! lol Oh what a treat! Of course he did this right after telling me they'd put me on milk shakes and ice cream after the clear broth.... guess he missed the note on me being diabetic...want to bet they won't give me those milk shakes?
I can see some sugar free, fat free ice milk in my future.... oh joy joy :p

You have loads of spoiling to get on Christmas day after going through all that! Your family could liquidise your turkey!!
Hey, sorbets can be fun ... sorta!!
The surgeon was pretty cool today, he went over with me again where the tumor was located and how he was going to try to remove it with just a few small incisions in my right chest and side. As long as nothing goes wrong then there won't be any big incisions so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed.
The bad part is I will be in the hospital 2-3 days if everything goes good but since the surgery will be 12/22 that means I'll be really lucky if I get to come home on Christmas eve. The 21'st I've got to go in for a bunch of pre-op medications and workups. Oh goodie!
Christmas dinner will be cooked by my sister and sister in law after I come home but the wild part is I'll be lucky if I can have soup by then. lol

Hugs... I just had a growth removed 8 days ago... I hope you get home for Christmas.. they kept me in 3 nights..
GOOD LUCK WITH IT ALL...
I so want to say they will be carving you up for Christmas, but that would be inappropriate ^^
Take care : )
Went to the doctor yesterday because the chest cough I developed after the scope still hasn't gone away even 10 days after I took a dose of meds for it. This time there was no sinus infection to confuse the condition and the doctor acknowledged that the scope exam had inflamed the bronchi in my lungs. So now I have another sore tookis from another shot and some really strong cough medicine that makes my head spin really good but it does stop the coughing.
I see a the surgeon that will do my operation next Wednesday at UK Med Center's Gill Heart Center. Keep your fingers crossed it can be done quickly even if not too easily.
I'm wired like the energizer bunny from this stuff right now so I"m cleaning house, doing laundry, and cleaning the oven too. Why waste it? lol
