I had a very good visit with family. I'm grateful to my husband for holding things down while I was away. I'm also saddened that he had to face some things alone. His mother went for her surgery, which went well, but her dog passed away in my husband's arms yesterday as I was traveling home. He's had an incredibly overwhelming week and I'm glad to be home to help care for his mother and really to care for him. He is such a giving and wonderful person and has felt all of this deeply.
My own mother received a promising update to her condition, she has Lewy Bodies but after many tests they determined that she has not entered any stage of dementia. Her most frightening symptoms were a result of certain medications in combination with Lewy Bodies and since her doctors have shifted her off of them her energy has returned and her mind doesn't feel so foggy. She's even able to do more quilting and she had energy to spend with all of us this week.
I'm counting these blessings and crying plenty of tears. I hope everyone has a calm holiday season, be good to yourselves and hydrate.
A week after we brought our puppy home I shopped for pet insurance and got him on a plan that covers 80% of emergency medical bills. I figured for less than $180 a year it couldn't hurt. Just in case.
Cue him breaking his leg at six months old.
Even though October has been one of the most stressful months we've experienced in years I am grateful I made this call and grateful that we've had so many years with good health and good luck. Counting my blessings when I can.
This year has been insane when it comes to emergencies. I'm also grateful my shop has done well.

I will be keeping both of your mothers in my thoughts. 🙏
I’m glad I was able to meet his mom when I was up there and we went to dinner that night. 😊
