Watch the one ahead of you, and you’ll learn why he is ahead. Then emulate him.
One of the surest ways to achieve success is to observe the actions of successful people, determine what principles they regularly employ, and then use them yourself. The principles of success, as Andrew Carnegie said, are definite, they are real, and they can be learned by anyone willing to take the time to study and apply them. If you are truly observant, you will find that you can learn something from almost everyone you meet. And it isn’t even necessary that you know them. You may choose great people who are no longer alive. The important thing is to study their lives, and then learn and apply in your own life the specific principles these people used to achieve greatness....Napoleon Hill
Here we are, on the last Sunday in 2020. What a year it's been.
As December comes to a close, I'm seeing a common theme out there. Thank goodness it's over. Good riddance, 2020. Happy to file 2020 away as a bad memory.
Sure, it's been rocky for everyone in different ways. And we have every right to feel whatever it is that we feel about what we've been through. Angry, sad, disappointed – it's all valid.
This is the part where I'm supposed to tell you to reflect on the happy moments, the silver linings. That 2020 wasn't all bad, because at least a few good things happened.
But I'm not going to do that today.
Instead, I'm going to tell you to focus on the learnings that came from all of the uncertainties. Chances are, you learned that what you thought was essential to your daily life may not be so necessary. You may have learned that those meaningless interactions in the grocery line aren't so meaningless after all. You may have learned how to create your own happiness when you've been stripped of the activities that once occupied your leisure time. You may have learned that you're tougher and more resilient than you thought. And I think we all learned not to take the status quo for granted.
It's probably healthy to pull out the happy moments too, but your best opportunity this year is to reflect on the life lessons that came from the tough parts. That's the stuff to take with you into 2021 and beyond. ...Mark Sisson
Observe your thoughts, but don’t be caught up in them.
This will give you some space to examine your thoughts from a mental and emotional perspective before you choose to respond and foster positivity to make better decisions.- Mark Divine
What are we are ghosts, restless spirits caught in a story of endless loops? I sometimes wonder.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
Here's a question I saw in James Clear's Blog
Sometimes you have to pass through the fire. What fire or pain should you seek out in your life over the next year so you can learn its lessons?
