CHAPTER 2: the rescue
She tried with all her might to scream, to make some kind of audible noise. To let them know that she was there, and she severely needed help. Much to her dismay, she found that she could not make any sounds loud enough for human ears to hear. The footfalls she heard earlier were now starting to sound like whatever was making the sounds were running towards her direction. All too suddenly they were way too upon her. It Almost like they too had become frantic. For a minute, she thought that maybe hiding would be a good idea, just in case. By circumstance they may have heard her desperate cries for help.
Then right before she could hide, they stood right before her. How had they gotten so close without her noticing? A small group of men stood in front of her. She saw wat looked like six men, but then again given her condition she wasn’t quite sure. As she focused her eyes on them, she found there was only three men before her not six. Each one of the men had delicious lean muscles, and shaggy dark hair. The one standing directly in front her, had the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen on anyone, let alone a man. While still laying in the snow, she looks him directly in the eyes. Her head begins to swim again. She notices that his eyes were a bright copper, gold color. Almost like the leaves on a tree changing for the season. “I must be seeing things! That most certainly can’t be the color of his eyes.!” She thought to herself as she was staring into his eyes. She was thinking about what to say to these men. She certainly didn’t want them to think she was mute. Just as she was about to speak, the same man with the oddly beautiful eyes, told her not to talk. He also told her to lie still and not move. It was almost l as if he was reading her mind. As stubborn as she was, she began to tell him something. She didn’t know but she got a strange feeling that at this moment she had to tell him something, but didn’t quite know what. Resolving to herself that she’d tell him when she thought of it. Now she figured it was time to try and see if she can move. She felt it was important to stand on her own two feet, despite what that man had just told her. She clearly heard him growl a slew of cuss words under his breath as she looked up at him. What happened next, she didn’t expect at all. He picked her up off the ground as if she weighed next to nothing. She squealed softly as he held her close to his chest and carried her back in the direction that they had come from. She struggled within his grasp but it was useless. Every time she tried to free herself, he just tightened his grasp on her. Blushing profusely, as he carried her, she tried to relax in his arms. However, she couldn’t seem to relax at all. Here she was, being carried by this sexy man, who smelled amazing and set both her body and soul on fire with the simplest of touches. She daringly looked up at him. Being this close to him allowed her to see his face a lot better than before. His features were extremely masculine. He had high cheek bones and a strong but gently grip on her. She of course was not worried that he’d suddenly drop her. Which meant she could focus all of her attention on the gorgeous man carrying her as well as the landscape around them. Looking up at him sent shivers ran down her spine. Without even noticing, she now realized he’d been staring down at her, with his eyes blazing with affection as well as a fiery passion and just a pinch of anger. Which she couldn’t seem to wrap her head around, for the simple fact that he was a complete stranger.
She assumed, that they all shared one huge house. In all reality, the other two shared one, while the man that carried her had his own. She thought, it was a tiny bit odd, but deciding not to question it. They would probably tell her once she got better.
Once stepping on their property, the quiet two went to their house, while this man kept walking. He tells her to hold on just a little bit longer and that they were almost there. For the first time in her life she was beginning to feel safe. However, she could not understand why but, given her circumstances she was far too tired to really think about it. Upon hearing that they are almost to where it is they were headed to she began to relax considerably in his arms. Feeling the tension lift from her, he too relaxed and smiled down at her. She in turn gave him a lazy smile.
Minutes later, they stood in front of a rustic looking bachelor pad type of house. He shifted her in his arms so that his left arm was still holding her, leaving his right arm free to open the front door. Once opened which only took but a few moments, he gently carried her through the doorway careful as to not whack her head or any other part of her body. He did not want to cause her more pain then she was already in. Stepping through the doorway for him, was an easy task. Once inside, he kicked the door shut behind him. From her vantage point within his arms she was able to see a vague outline of the room in which he was standing. However, being that the sun had set quite a few hours ago, it was very dark. Once fully inside, he brought her to his bedroom, with much to her pleasure seemed to have an adjacent bathroom.
He set her down onto his bed, like she was a fragile porcelain doll. After making sure she was as comfortable as she could get, he walked away out of her view. Looking back at her over his shoulder he started mumbling to himself a long list of medical supplies. He looked het her one last time before rushing out of the room. She wasn’t sure why but he looked unsure of himself. They made eye contact briefly. Blushing profusely, she looked away first hoping he had not seen her blush. From her position of his bed she could see that he got himself worked up in a crazy pursuit with whatever he was mumbling about earlier.
From what she could see and hear, he was running up and down the hallway and in and out of the adjacent bathroom. It seemed to her that he was turning on every possible light on as he went. The entire upstairs was no doubt light up like a Christmas tree.
Cursing under his breath, he tells her to stay there and not to move and that he’d be right back. She wondered what could possibly be the matter but was far too exhausted to ask. She watched him dash out through the bedroom door. She heard a loud bang and within seconds he was back in the room, still carrying the stuff he acquired from around the house. He gives her a thumbs up with a goofy smile plastered on his face. “I just forgot to lock the front door and just ad to go lock it just in case someone uninvited decided to walk in” said Derrick. He waitied to see if she was going to respond but thought that maybe she just didn’t want to. “now let’s get you cleaned up, said derrick cheerfully.
