I remember the pain of trying to get through my first challenge, it was not my preference to go through it but it also was not my destiny to deny it. It was my time to hatch and it was to be the hardest thing I would ever have to go through. You see a Dragons egg is harder than a diamond and a hatchling usually dose not make it out alive without the mother’s help. But the voices all around me told to keep trying and make it through.

“Hatch my baby for the Kings of a thousand years are calling you.”

“Look she is cracking it.”

“No helping the hatchling or it shall be disqualified.”

The voices kept coming and I wondered why none of them bothered to help. But somewhere inside me I knew that if I did not get out of this egg quick I would die of no oxygen, my lungs were ready for the crisp air of the night. True I did almost die and that is what made me more famous then all the others that had done the amazing and made it out also, for a mother Dragon is very intone with her hatchling and as I heard a cry go out of my mother as my heart stopped, I couldn’t give up and when I broke the egg, I also heard a gasp go out and the voices started again.

“She has made it!”

“We have the third hatchling to finish the challenge!”

“You have 3 years with the hatchling then we shall send for her, congratulations on her victory.”

I remember my mother licking me and looking at me ever so softly and yet I couldn’t see her, I knew something was wrong because I was supposed to see her and know what see what see looked liked, but could not.



“She needs her rest and as do I so we shall be going.”

I knew that was my mothers voice, she had a sweetness that no one else had and a love for me that only I could sense.

When I could no longer hear the voices my mother spoke to me.

“Don’t worry my young one I know you cannot see but that is one more challenge you shall have to over come.” A rustling noise came from beside me and I sensed another friend.

“Good Beanka, just the one I need, send for Jusok and fly quickly.”

“Yes Seafr I shall, but may I ask the name of the child?”

“Her name is Avhei.”
