Three Secrets

19:47 Sep 29 2018
Times Read: 255

“You’ve hidden something”
“I’ve hidden three” He replied.
“Two I may tell,
But one is simply out of your grasp”
She questioned why
Though he waved her words away.
“One,
I sleep with the light on-
But only for the silence to be pure.”
“How reasonable” She mused from within,
As she struggled to cease her giggles.
“Two,
I resent the past at all lengths and measures.
All times good and bad.”
“Wait, what is the third?
I beg to know the answer!”
He glanced side to side,
Grinned ear to ear,
And she didn’t know what to say,
So she waited for something to hear.
He got real close-
Maybe about as far as 3 inches away.
She could taste his breath as she heard him say,
“It may astound you how real something-
Someone can be-
Especially when they are in your head.”
When she opened her eyes,
He was no longer there.
She didn’t say another word,
But the world didn’t care;
Everyone already knew she was weird.

That was very good story and has a learning lesson to be careful who or what you let in your mind or dreams or you might not ever wake up the sane anymore.

Wax

02:57 Sep 26 2018
Times Read: 270

Drip drop
The candles talk
The things they say fall near their stay
They see what we do
They see what we should
But wax can only make so much noise,
Drip drop
I hold a pose
I had only seen it once
As the imagery of a bloody rose.
Drip drop
There you stand
A firm fist and a bruising hand.
I could tell you to stop
Or I can take the blows like a man.
Drip drop
I feel you now,
The pain and hurt and shame and doubt.
The candles were silent
As you now are.

Freedom

20:50 Sep 13 2018
Times Read: 293

Spacing in silence suffering the verse
T’was per chance I lift mine eyes amidst trees
There did perch she, the robin of my dreams,
Singing nothing short of a symphony.
To and fro the depth of her voice was changed
The words that formed suddenly cry my name.
Just as I had grown so very attached
A boasting wind was the first to attack
Helplessly she flails and chirps with fear
With loving arms I arrive to rescue
Though the wind soon departed from the earth
A certain melody could not be heard.
Raising the creature in my cold bare hands
No pulse could be felt, now my heart enraged
If only she had been in her own cage
I’m afraid the cost of freedom is pain
Aware that something can be gained from loss
I set her remnants back on the cold ground
Maybe her spirit is lost and need found
Returning to my place at the window
With a black ink pen and an empty page
I glanced now and again for creative gain
Though the moment had passed with no reaping
The book was closed, the pages still empty
The faintness of a chirp was heard reigning
“Victory, victory! “ All in the light.
The very bird who collapsed is alive!
Her song I cherish every moment
Nevermore with an ache or a sore heart.
Sing my Robin, my emblem of dreams
Please my Robin, do not abandon me.

Piece of Mind

23:28 Sep 12 2018
Times Read: 328

The stage was dimly lit, the green show curtains drifted from sight.
She danced like the willow in a windy flight;
The crowd completely mesmerized couldn’t see her face.
When her actions done there was another figure with immeasurable grace.
Her voice chimed beyond the bird’s song,
And further unexpected than the other did she plummet
With no hope for the audience that she return.
The phantom of her voice lurked and crept to the discomfort of those who heard,
But the weight of its depth enticed people to pity.
Dared by their weeping she came once more and received adoration beyond praise.
Though the dancer kept at high pace her steps lacked
And her breath stolen by the one who sings.
Like the crowd she drank each syllable
And feared the day silence would reign once more.
On, on, on, and on did the people cheer and roar with delight-
Then darkness fell and the remnants left of such a majesty
Was gone with a heart on her sleeve and her soul on the floor.
