When you draw the magician, it means that you need to improve and develop your skills in learning a specific skill, like your knowledge and communication skills. It's a card of knowledge, development, inner consciousness, and communication.
You need to focus on specifc goal, that you want to archive, but the only way you can accomplish that goal, is to develop your knowledge. You need knowledge to learn how to think, and to search your inner consciousness, to build up better creative ideas, to improve your thinking and practical skills to archive your goal.
It could be that you need to develop your knowledge to think more deeply on finding your true will, and aims on archiving your goals. For example your goal might be to improve a particular skill in a subject that your studying, but you feel that you need to improve on your confidence, so you need to focus on your awareness, and to improve your skills in communication and langauges to improve your confidence.
That is why Mercury is the ruling planet of the Magician card, because it symbolises knowledge, improvement of skill, and communication.
You need to be consciously aware of your inner self, and how you think creatively. You need to improve your knowledge and conscious awareness of what is going on in your life and what ideas you need to focus on to archive your goal.
For example, you might need to improve your concentration, focus and communication during your meditation exercises, so you need to think deep and use your ideas to improve your knowledge to develop your skill in concentration and to focus more clearly with your inner conscious mind.
With the magician card, you need to play around with your ideas more, and to develop your knowledge, to focus on what skills of improvment you need to work on.
You need to prepare your ideas and knowledge to improve your thinking and communication skills at a inner conscoius level to help you focus on your specific goals.
The magician is standing with his wand in the air, and the symbols of the 4 suits on the altar all prepared, it's representation of the 4 elements. It's a card of knowledge and learning.
You see the wand in the air, which is pointing to the element air, because the element air, is to with thinking, knowldge and communication.
This is the magician card I have in my deck, you notice the art drawing is more colourful. He has the symbol of infinity above his head, and he is pointing his wand up to the heavens, with his other hand pointing to the ground. The heavens represents the divine, and his finger pointing down to the ground represents the physical world.
