Well, my computer is back. I need to get my fonts and some other things re-downloaded, but I'm back on my puter at least.
This morning, we surprised LordV at work. LordV's Birthday is Sunday and Rina, a co-worker of his and I planned a surprise party for him at work. Rina did most of the planning, getting LordV's Boss involved and the CEO of the company. Apparently, to allow me to sneak in, they planned to send him on a wild goose chase, IT tech style.
Apparently, everyone involved, made sure that it seemed that every single printer in the company was having trouble. They didn't want him in his office or near the conference room, so it couldn't be a computer issue, because all he would do, is use his computer to remote into the person's computer and fix it.
So, after about the 4th RN calling him for help, to get her printer going, I was snuck into the conference area with Wanda his boss and the CEO of the company, Greg. I had warned them, that if anyone calls his work cell, he will look at the number and ignore it, then listen to a message, if they leave one.....except for Wanda and Greg. Those he immediately answers.
So, Greg opened up his phone and called LordV. Explaining that he was attempting to put a presentation together in the Conference room and that his computer is doing something real weird, giving him only half a screen and could he come and look at it for him.
By this time, we had about 20 people in the room, including the IT tech team that set this all up. One of them, Stephen, had opened his laptop and was showing off pictures of his newborn. Greg was sitting next to Stephen, when LordV walked in.
I could see it on his face. He immediately saw Greg looking over Stephen's shoulder on a laptop and he flung his arms out, as if to say "WTH?" Then he looked up and saw me. We all yelled, "Surprise!!!" and watched his face flush with embarrassment and bewilderment. He immediately walked over to me and gave me a hug, but I knew, he was embarrassed.
You see, LordV is a shy guy, that if you are gifted with being able to call him friend, you are allowed to see his quick mind, quirky sense of humor and good soul. He has never been able to make friends easily, so, finding out so many people like him and would go through so much trouble, to do this for him. I think it floored him.
The RN's came up to him, to tell him all about, how they had to play dumb about their printer problems. They laughed, patted him on the back and introduced themselves to me.
It only lasted 30 minutes, but LordV walked me to my car, still bewildered at what we pulled off.
All I can say is......GOTCHA!!!!!
Well, my computer went down.
I used it all day tuesday and shut it down in the normal way that night. I booted it up on Wednesday and got:
"No bootable cd in atapi cd-rom."
I was like.....ummmmmmm, ok. Checked the CD-rom drive....no disk. So, I attempted to repair with my windows disk. But all it would do is reboot.
So, I put it aside for LordV to play with when he got home. This morning he has taken it to work, to try to figure out the problem.
I do have LordV's laptop and the home computer to play on, but well you know how it is when you get use to a particular computer. I miss the access to my files that I didn't realize I depended on.
Well, keep your fingers crossed that the computer will be back up and running.

Good luck hon, I know what you mean OB bought me a laptop just for me and we switched everything that was mine over , and i dont know what i would do if it stopped working or something happened to it . hope lord V can fix it.
The Joys Of Computers. And yet most of us cant live without them.
The joys of Multiple Sclerosis.....
For those of you that don't know, Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects your nerves and I was diagnosed with it, in 2005.
One of the things about MS, is how it affects your nerves. Muscle spasms/cramps, numbness, tingling, hypersensitivity, or no sensitivity at all. It is this last thing that I discovered this morning.
I got up, took a shower and got dressed. I placed LordV's ring on my finger and noticed something on my fingers. On the pads of my first and middle finger, I have knife cuts across it. I mean they are enough that I have skin tags, where I can insert another fingernail into them.
So, I begin thinking. When was the last time I used a knife. Last night, cutting bacon for a recipe. But...I don't remember blood. I don't remember any pain.
Waking up to find these things, are almost as fun as waking up to find the miscellaneous bruises, that I find on days.
Give me a couple days and I will start laughing about it, but right now, its unnerving.
COMMENTS
smiles ive done that too. but not having ms. im just that clumsy...:)
My grandpa has MS, and it's rather unnerving to watch happen. When he gets tired, the muscles in his left leg stop working all together, so it starts dragging on the ground. One time, he went to use a hammer to nail a board to something, and instead of hitting the nail, he hit his hand, and didn't even notice. I had to take the hammer away from him before he could stop. It really sucks, cause my gramma doesn't even seem to care. She still makes him do all the work, doesn't even help him.
On sunday, LordV decided we needed an outing. He apparently planned the day, around me and how I get fatigued easily. He wanted to show me some more of the beautiful coast.
He took me to several places that just showed, incredible scenery. Please know, these pictures do not do the place justice. Looking out onto the ocean, its simply breathtaking.

Looks great! You might want to double check the spelling of "gaurdians" :)
WOW! Very nice job!
It is the perfect representation of the coven
(well after you fix the spelling) :)
Awesome work. YOu have some very talented young adults with in your coven.
While working on the Coven History, I have tagged some of the "Elders" on here, that have been around.
One of them, is Hawk2K. We have gotten into silly conversations about different things.
But this last conversation, even I had to sit back and go, Huh???? I read it several times and then I got it. Bottom up.

Don't forget the red wine and the napkin.

LOL i got used to his werido comebacks lol :P
LOVE YOU HAWK :P
It was midnight and LordV got up, to go to bed. He had turned on one of his favorite musicals, "Little Shop of Horrors" but he couldn't keep his eyes open anymore.
He helped me up from the floor where I was stretching and gave me a hug.
At that time, the Rick Moranis broke out in, telling the story of how his "Audrey" came to be.
Was talking with Images, about World of Warcraft. I explained that the name, Chordewa, is actually a story of a Young witch, that could turn into a black cat, that was snagged by a Vampires. She sent me the following:
LordV, a friend of his from work and I went to see the new Star Trek movie yesterday. The three of us were big Star Trek fans and we wondered how they would fit it all in with a future that was already out there.
I am going to be giving away part of the movie here....so if you don't want to know, don't read on. Just know. I enjoyed this movie immensely and look forward to sequels.
I wouldn't call this a prequel. Granted, it tells us of how Kirk and Spock grew up and their troubles, but from the beginning this is a alternate universe.
It starts with the death of Kirk's father, making him a hero. In the Star Trek lineage we know, Kirk's father is one of the reasons that he joins the Federation.
Another difference is the death of Spock's mother and the destruction of the Vulcan planet. This Spock, seems to be more human than the original Spock. Again, this departs from all that is known about Spock and his heritage.
So, as most people walked out of the movies, saying, that there is no way. That it doesn't fit with the rest of Star Trek line. That it sucked. I saw it as a new beginning.
Another generation, will be allowed to experience, THEIR version of Star Trek. Just like we have our version of Star Wars and of the original Star Trek. There is a second generation of Star Wars fans and now hopefully, Star Trek fans.
Simply, it was creative, enjoyable and I can't wait to see it again. The two characters that I enjoyed the most were Bones and Scotty, but the interactions of Spock and Kirk were funny. I recommend this movie, but the key is to go in with an open mind.
COMMENTS
I didn't read on as I want to see the movie, but I was tickled to think you and LordV still need a chaperone :-P
Whoo Hoo I'm so excited but won't get to even try to see it till next week :(
planning to go see it. but the old trekkie fans are diehard fans, any deviation from the original would probably throw them into major shock lol
Going to see this movie was our Mother's day present from the guys. I enjoyed it as well as you did honey, and probably for the same reasons. And the guy playing Bones was dead on- I thoroughly enjoyed that performance- sort of gave the whole thing a different focus for me-
Let's hope there are more to come
Here is a hint: Click your "Edit Portfolio" button.
Nudity policy found on the portfolio rules, is for ALL OF THE DARK NETWORK!!!!!
Can you really tell me, that you can't see why I don't suspend all the bare asses and BDSM?
COMMENTS
the rules are here for a good reason. if you allow everything anyone wants to put up this wouldnt be a vampire site. it would be a porn site. what maybe beautiful to some may be sexual and pornagraphic to others.
I think if your not sure of a pic or graphic, check with an acoylyte or talk to a sentorian or someone that can tell you. no harm in asking.
What? This isn't a pornographic, dating site for 18 year olds trapped in 50 year old bodies?
Damn! How could I have been mislead all these years :)
To think they have a chance to show of this summer's colours in lingerie too!
some people don't get it.
I think that if you get suspended 2 times for those pictures you should get perma-suspended. xDD
I mean... I don't really come on VR for BDSM pictures and bare asses. xD
Things I have learned on the DarkNetwork:
1.) I have learned that most people do not understand the concept of "View Profile", when editing their profile. This simple option will show you, that white font on white background doesn't work. Or that your Right side menu, is not suppose to be on the very bottom, under your profile.
2.) I have learned, that most people on here, haven't read the Terms of Service, VR Manual or the Portfolio Rules. They haven't taken the time to read them and then want to fight with me about the job I do, to enforce these rules.
3.) I have learned that most people do not realize, that I am a volunteer on this site and I am simply following the rules and regulations that have been set down for my job. If you have a problem with these, see the boss. His name is Cancer.
4.) I have learned that logs and conversations can be changed. People have used this measure to get me kicked out of a coven, to cause trouble between friends and to attempt to get me kicked off the Sentoran team. Some people love to cause drama, to drive a wedge between people, or simply to instill loyalty in those they wish to keep as friends. WHEN IN DOUBT, CHECK!!!
5.) I have learned that there is always going to be drama, in some form or another, here on the DarkNetwork. The key is deciding how important this drama is to you and your health. Block button is your friend. And not posting in your journal is smart.
6.) I have learned that you can always advise a friend, a child or your spouse regarding a problem. You have to realize that they aren't always going to take your advice. Its part of their learning curve, even if you have already learned the hard lesson, sometimes they need to learn it too.
7.) I have learned that nothing is more important, than honesty.
8.) I have learned that a hug from a loved one, every day, can solve almost any problem.
9.) I have learned that some days, you need to just walk away and re-evaluate yourself and how much you need an online entity, in your life.
10.) I have learned that online, people can hide behind a Mask. Even if you have met them, eye to eye, in real life, don't take what they say verbatim.
COMMENTS
1) I have learned that you are wise beyond your few years.
2) I understand that you have volunteered to do a job that most people wouldn't do unless paid, and then they'd still bitch about it. Most here who want your post don't understand what you do, anyway; they envy the title and the authority, not the responsibility.
3) You have reinforced in me the belief that you and all the other admins do a largely thankless job for us, the unwashed masses.
For this and everything else you do for VR that I'm not aware of, thank you.
Would you believe it that some people actually believe VR staff (procurators, acolytes, admins, regents, consuls, dominars, & sentorans) actually get paid!!! lol
we get paid??? danm... i must of missed out on all my pay stubs......
i learned to speck up more since i have been here on vr..... i knew running my own coven would help me over come some of that. since i tend to be quiet in real life when i really needed to speak up.
now after all this time...... i am still learning to do just that.
1) all drama online can be turned off. just push a button.
2) stay true to the golden rule, treat others as you would want to be treated.
3)all should learn the difference between fantasy and reality
4) that having a true friend like you, i can rant and rave and you say "breathe"
5) and cant say the words "its only a website people" enough.
real life is filled with enough drama. i've said my peace. way to go sis!
Lets see in the last year.....I have learned that there is always drama no matter where you go or what you do.
I have learned that people think that an admin gets paid for a job the job that they do, when in all reality it is volunteering your time.
I have learned that friends are the ones that matter most and the ones that I have made friends with on here are cherished friends.
And there are a few things that you know already dear so I won't list them here.
Thank you and all of the other admins for the jobs that you do here.

That must be to the power of 'pure' evil!
To think I'm only 250,000 odd pages behind you. lol
If you are evil squared then there must be something wrong. I am about a third of what you have behind you. Boy wonder what that will look like to see. :)
nah just means your special!
I believe my car is possessed..
I went to wilsonville the other day, on my own. Generally, I go with LordV, but he needed another part and I was available to do this for him. My worry was my vehichle.
I have a 1993 Buick Park Avenue. Yeah, its a luxury vehicle, complete with leather seats. Trouble is, it has about 300,000 miles on it and is rusting out from under me. It spent most of its life in New York, who is famous for the corrosive salt they use on their winter roads. But then, it was used to go back and forth from NY to Florida. Then eventually, from New York to Washington state.
Anyways, recently I have been having some sort of electrical problem. My interior lights will stay on, even after I shut off the car and walk away, killing my battery. When I get in the car, with the battery dead, I will hear a clicking coming from the glove box. I asked several mechanics to just disconnect the interior lights, but they couldn't find the specific fuse that did it. They couldn't get them to shut off that way. Well, I took it into the dealership and they discovered that the trunk release was not working and that was causing the problem.
I had no trouble on the way to Wilsonville but on the way back, I believe my car was laughing at me. I had hit some traffic and it slowed us down to a crawl of about 20 mph. Something on the radio, that was a demon demonic voice and it said, "Ha Ha Ha". In time to the HA HA HA, my interior lights flashed on.
I turned down my radio, figuring it was connected to the speakers causing a problem. The lights were off. As I went down the road, out of the corner of my eye, I would see my dome lights come on. When I would look at them directly, they would shut off, only to flicker on again, when I turned my head back. This went on for several miles. When I got back up to 70 mph, it didn't happen.
I just started laughing. Like most things old, my car has a personality apparently. It felt like I was playing peek a boo or hide and go seek with my own car. Now just to figure out where the loose connection is. lol.

One is glad to be of service.
In the last almost 1 year, I have been around in VR I do believe that you have accomplished what you set out to do. Congrats on the anniversary and looking to see many more as the years go by. :)
