Well, that's it, I need a new laptop.

My motherboard is fried. And after all the work that LordV put into it, buying it new memory and RAM. He is going to try to salvage the memory from it this weekend. *Fingers crossed*

He would love to replace the motherboard but right now hasn't found the part. So, its either, hunt down the part, or get a new laptop.

Until then, LordV and I will be sharing his laptop at home. We have a desktop but right now, with the heat, I can only stay up there for 5 minutes at a time.

LordV and I are in southwest Washington state and we are having a very unusual heat wave in these parts. Prior to the past week, the weatherman were excited that, last year we had hit 8 days in a year, above 90 degrees.

Yesterday the actual temp: 102

The average temp for this time of year: 77

The Record was set in 1958: 103

Today is suppose to be 104.

Tomorrow is suppose to be 101.

The rest of the week should be in the 90's.

This is truly weird, due to most the time, around us, its like 78 degrees.

So, we live in a condo. There is an upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs. Last night was unbearable,(95 at 10pm) so, LordV and I camped out on the floor downstairs, in the room with the air conditioner.

This air conditioner weighs about 75 lbs. Yeah its portable but getting it upstairs would be a pain.

I just hope that its better tonight and that we can sleep in bed. That floor is damn hard.

LordV got a blow up mattress and we set it up today. We have been huddled in the living room, trying to stay cool.

Its not suppose to dip that much under 100 for the rest of the week. People are simple not use to it around here.

Well LordV made a mentorship but like he is in real life, he needs to be a bit different. Those of you, that read his journal, understand his quirky sense of humor. Well his mentorship is more of the same. Its still under construction, but let me tell you about it.

His mentorship is based something he found at uncyclopedia.com. It is a parody of Wikipedia, allowing the user to create their own fiction. He found the history of Geece. It is the unofficial beginning of Geeks.

As I read through it, I didn't believe it was fiction, until I got to the bottom of the page and it states some of the deities they worshipped.

"Carmack, God of Headshots and BSP Trees

Torvalds, Lord of Penguins, Gnus, and Eunuchs

Sagan, Father of the Heavens

Shatner, God of Melodrama

Deinos Albertos ("Unusual Al"), God of Music. (Weird Al Yankovich)

Lovelace, Mother of Automatons

Hawking, Lord of Darkness and Light

Skuld, Goddess of Debugging

Adams, Patron Deity of Hitchhikers

The deities were believed to live on the sacred Mt. Dew, on whose slopes grew the finest coffee beans in the land."

It was only then that I realized it was a farce. LOL. It perfectly fits all that LordV is. His love of sci fi, his strengths of knowing and troubleshooting computers, being a graphic artist and his great joy in the photos that he takes. So, his mentorship, is going to help with computer problems, CSS/Html help, Photography and Radio Communications (LordV is a amatuer radio operator), along with how to work your way around the Dark Network.

Good luck, my love. Hopefully, you will find others like you...smart, intelligent with a quick sense of humor to make you smile.

I haven't written in awhile so I figured, I would catch everyone up.

On Monday night, the night before my birthday, LordV brought home a present from his boss for me. She took the picture that LordV had of me, with an owl on my shoulder and created a watercolor.

So, at midnight, I got my first present from a wonderfully, handsome, sexy man, worshiping my body and making me scream with the joy of it. *Blush*

Umm, yeah anyways....

When we woke up, I was told to go down and get half my presents to open, before LordV went to work. As I had 7 presents, I picked some and came back upstairs. I recieved:

~Since all my books are still back in West Virginia, LordV gave me a box set of the Harry Potter book series, in paperback.

~An underwater MP3 player, for swimming laps. If you have ever done laps, you know its boring and mind numbing, to swim back and forth, with only the line on the bottom of the pool to look at. Nothing to listen to, except the sounds of the water. I saw one and it was the one thing I asked for.

~A book called, Notes from a rescuer by Thom Dick. Hints from one EMT to another...

~Again, my coin collections are all in West Virginia. So, LordV got me the Lincoln penny collection, from 1959 to now. Apparently, they are discontinuing the Lincoln penny with the memorial on the back of it. So, he got me the whole collection, in a book, to add to my collection, once I get my things from WV.

~An invitation, for a Saturday BBQ luncheon train ride on the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad. (www.mrsr.com.) I gave LordV a kiss, as a RSVP for the invitation.

So, off he went to work. My sister in law called and wanted to meet for a early dinner. So, I went and met her at a local steakhouse and was able to spend some time with my nephew Jeffrey. He is 4 and still not potty trained or speaking in clear sentences, but remember, I don't have kids, so I don't know anything.

Anyways.....

Came home, to a nice cool home. As a birthday present to myself, I went and got a portable air conditioner, to at least keep one room of the house cool. I have been having issues with the heat, it was causing me to go into heat stroke, fairly easily. I have something called Uthoff's syndrome, that with heat or exertion, my MS symtpoms will worsen. So, with the heat index going up and the weather channel calling for 100's come this weekend, I decided that I needed to do this for myself, so I could function.

I cuddled a bit with LordV and came online to find two notes from friends, wishing me happy birthday. Thank you for remembering, Jareth and Redqueen. It meant so much that you did.

After awhile, LordV brought in my last two presents.

~One was a haz mat black t-shirt, with a skull and flames on it. I use to have a haz mat certificate for first responders. How to handle a haz mat situation. I wasn't a haz mat technician, but this was the next level down.

~The other is a DigiPro Drawing tablet, to connect to my computer and use with Photoshop. LordV thought that with all the things I do with photoshop that it might be fun for me to try this. Unfortunately, due to the MS, I don't have the fine muscle control, that I use too, to be able to draw like I use too. But I will try it out and see.

We snuggled some more and then had an ice cream cake, that LordV bought, just before bed.

Its simply amazing. In the past, I haven't gotten excited about my birthday, because I didn't want to get disappointed. For so many years, my birthday was forgotten or ignored. I stopped believing that someone would not only buy me presents, but buy me presents that are thoughtful and things that I would want.

Thank you baby, for caring so much about me and doing your best to make me happy. The fact that you care, is the best present of all. I love you.

Most of you know, I have a dog named Maddie. She has this belief, that the cat, is going to get her bone. So whenever the cat goes towards the room where the bone is, Maddie runs in and growls at the cat.

After watching America's Funnies Videos, I'm just glad that Maddie is actually growling at the cat.

GRANDMOTHERS!!!!!

Not mine.

I got a phone call last night, from one of the wards in my Coven. Let me give you a little background.

As you all know, I am the Mistress of a Coven, full of teens. I do not push myself into their life, but I do, offer a ear to listen. I do offer advice, but it often entails telling them to listen to their heart, or to speak to their parents, school officials or guardians. I offer all the kids, my phone number, if they want to call. I don't hassle the kids. If I see in the threads, they are troubled. I will send a note, offering to listen. If I don't hear from them in a couple days, I send a note on VR, on yahoo and an Email....to let them know, that their absence has been missed.

This girl, within my coven, is a ward of the state. Her mother is mentally ill and she lives with her grandmother. Her father has never been in the picture.

When she found out that she was going to be coming close to me, on a school function, she wanted to meet. I told her, that 1.) she had to have her guardian's permission. 2.) she had to tell her teachers who we were. 3.) It had to be in a public area, where her teachers could view us. She agreed. I got a phone call from her mother, saying she gave permission for her daughter to meet me. We met her, in a bowling alley, with the teachers watching. It was for maybe 45 minutes and at most, the only contact we had with her, was when we hugged. This is last year.

Her mother and her counselor felt that we, as in the Coven, was a good influence and good stabilizing effect on her. We offered her friendship and a place where she felt she could be herself and be listened too. The grandmother, of course, thinks that LordV is a pimp and CN and I are his 'hoes. Grandmother believes that the Coven is a Satanic thing, that the coven is there to collect young kids and put them into sexual situations. So, of course, we are all evil.

Well, I got a call from this delightful person last night. Telling me that this child has always lied to me, regarding what she has told me about her home life. Telling me that I am a sick person, being 38 years old and being in contact with a 16 year old child. That I was interfering with her guardianship.

As this old bitty went on, bitching at me on the phone. All I could think to ask her, is two questions. If you were doing your guardianship so well, then this child wouldn't need strangers to give her confidence and to keep giving her hope. If she was doing her job as her guardian, she wouldn't have been raped in her school. Secondly, why do you see me as such a threat? I have a relationship with your granddaughter that YOU should, that her MOTHER should. All she needs to do, is listen.

To say the least, she went off on me. Telling me that she was going to contact the authorities and turn me in. I told her, that basically, she has proven the point, that she obviously doesn't listen to her granddaughter and is not interested in her well being, but more of how she (the grandmother) looks to society. I told her that there was no hope for her, but her granddaughter deserves the glimmer of hope, that the Coven provides, in making her feel as if she is a useful part of society. Not a waste, a whore or a inconvenience. Then, I hung up on her.

Ok, maybe not my shining moment, but I am getting in trouble, for caring. You can ask any of my kids, I am never inappropriate with them....never pushing myself on them. I am simply here if they need me. Why is it that I am interfering, when I have the grandmother and mother calling me, to yell at me, for their own shortcomings?

*Sighs* I just hope my coven member is ok. Been several days since I have seen her online and after what happen last night......she is going to get the worst of it.

I wonder, how I could have handled this better. But its hard to not react when you are being called a whore and pedophile, simply because you cared enough about a teen, to listen.

Some people just don't understand. They are to judgemental and jump to conclusions. Sometimes, Grandmother's think they know what's right for their grandkids because they have already raised their own kids and have seen it before. She just needs to have a sit down with her granddaughter, and like you said, listen to what she has to say. Really she should envy your relationship with her granddaughter because maybe she feels threatened by you because you give a place for teens to come and talk.

Nothing you did would have made a difference! The grandmother already had made her decisions and picked her target before you ever talked to her.

I concur. It's a sad thing that her grandma would do such a thing to you. Personally, you've helped me a lot too, I can only imagine how you've helped said person...who has known you far longer than I have. Maybe there was a better way to handle it, but I fail to see it. I fail to see how you helping someone out when no one else will is pedophile-type behavior. You never asked this person for anything inappropriate, only offered an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and some good advice. There's nothing wrong with that.

Yea, I think the Grand-mum had her own preconceptions of who and what you were and closed her mind to any further enlightenment on you. Why is it that people who have loving caring natures are so good at making rods for their own back.. Sometimes, I know I have stand further back from things rather than get involved especially if they have a chance of getting too personal. Hugs you!

You did nothing wrong and the burden of proof is up to the grandmother...which there is none. She's just being her old bitchy closed minded self and in my opinion probably somewhat jealous. You're an amazing person, you do a great service both to VR and to all the people you've helped along the way.

I think you handled it very well considering and more than likely I would have done it the same way. I just hope the womans actions don't harm the girl in question any further.

Chin up doll. If you need anything let me know, especially if her threat materializes.

*hugs* :)

I had a good time on the 4th. We went to a friends house and had Jack Daniel's Mesquite Marinaded steaks, mac salad and some cucumbers in vinegar. It was good company and alot of laughs. Thankfully the steaks turned out perfect. (Pats self on back.)

We left to go and watch the Longview fireworks, unfortunately, our hostess forgot that I don't do well with long walks. So, after walking more than a mile, we settled down on our blankets to watch the fireworks. Fireworks were cool, put to the patriotic music of today. I found myself smiling up at the sky and singing along with the music, rocking back and forth to the music with LordV.

On the way back to our car, was worse. You see, to walk, I need a horizon, a place to be able to gauge my balance. With it being so dark, it was slow going. LordV was wonderful, holding my hand in a tight grip and whispering to me, to step up, step down, that there is a lip in the pavement or uneven ground. It was a slow go, but we eventually got back to our car. Within minutes, I was asleep.

I had a bad day yesterday, my legs throbbing and the fatigue that caused me to take a several hour nap, after only being awake for a couple hours. Today isn't much better. I felt okay when I first got up, so I cleaned the upstairs bathroom and the two bedrooms up there. But then the fatigue hit me. As I was resting on the side of the bed, I took my temp. 101 degrees.

Gee, wonder what else is going on.

Well, I'm wanted to take out all the garbage and recyclables and run to the store and post office today, but I just don't have the strength or stamina right now. Its 12:37pm, I have been up 4 hours...and I am going to go and take a nap. I hate this.

There was a news report tonight, talking about a found 2 year old that had wandered away from her Uncle and Grandpa. Unfortunately, they were too busy doing pot, to notice this 2 year old walk away. She was found wanding in the middle of the street.

It made me remember, when I was 16. I had gone outside with my Yellow Lab Casey and he took off like a shot for something in the yard. I heard a high pitch scream and then laughter.

Following Casey, I found a 3 year old child in our front yard. Casey had gone over to her and she was patting him on the back. I went over and picked her up and asked her where she lived. Yeah like she could tell me. I then looked around for a parent looking for her....nothing. So, I took her inside to my parents, to see if they recognized her.

I walked in with the child on my hip, to my parents in the kitchen.

"Hey Mom, Dad, look what I found."

My dad got a stricken look on his face and said, "Put that back where you found it!!!"

I just had to stand back and laugh.

******BTW: The child was the 9th child of a religious family, one street over. So I walked the 1/8 mile to return the child. Scary thing.....they didn't realize that she was gone.

With all the sick people around parents still allow their children to wander.

Where I live it's normal to see 3 year olds on the street playing with out the parents knowledge of where they are!

I don't let mine out of my sight! There will come a time when I will have to and I'm not looking forward to it.

Your going to love this:

Phone rang. "Hello"

Automated response: This is a costco food safety alert: The jbs swift company and the USDA has recalled the meat sold after April 21, 2009.

Our records indicate that you purchased steaks, ground and beef roasts at our local store....please return it to costco for a full refund.

We will follow up with a letter to remind you.

Thank you.

If you have further questions.......

*Looks at freezer full of meat." Does that include if you have already repackaged it into another bag? Hmmmmmmm....

Called local Costco. I explained the message I got and asked what to do. She said that they will be happy to give me a full refund if I bring the meat back. Doesn't matter on the packaging.

I said, well, I think we ate some....

"Well if you ate some and aren't sick, then its up to you if you wish to return it."

Oh how reassuring.

I will be returning them tomorrow.
