I guess Vampire Rave is expanding in more ways than one!
This story happened a while ago in Dublin, and even though it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, its true!!!!!
John Bradford, a Dublin University student, was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a big storm.
The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly, he saw a car slowly coming towards him and stopped. John, desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got into the car and closed the door.. only to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on .
The car started moving slowly. John looked at the road ahead and saw a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life. Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared out of no where through the window and turned the wheel. John, paralyzed with terror, watched as the hand came through the window, but never touched or harmed him.
Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road, so, gathering strength, he jumped out of the car and ran to it. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he had just had.
A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realized he was crying and....wasn't drunk.
Suddenly, the door opened, and two other people walked in from the dark and stormy night. They, like John, were also soaked and out of breath. Looking around, and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other...
'Look Paddy.....there's that fooking idiot that got in the car while we were pushing it!!!!'

:) Cute... very cute.
I SOOOOOOOO needed that chuckle. Thanks!
heh, we sure know how to make dem in Ireland!
Some pictures for The Rat.
This is the first significant snow we have had all winter. The past "major snow storms" that have been predicted have resulted in a half inch or so over night and then warming and rain resulting in green lawns by noon.
This time...It really snowed and the kids in the area are rejoicing as school has been cancelled resulting in a long weekend.
I still need to get my ass to work, however.
ENJOY Rat!

Quite pretty......thanks for sharing. We still have nooooo snow.
*rat dances around* Looky- snow!! Ahhh I so think its lovely. The way it is draping the trees, how quiet it becomes as the blanket settles on the ground. :) Wish I was there.
Thank You! Only snow I will see. :(
But all that aside- I do hope you are able to get to work alright, and your wife. Be safe Bull's family.
Thanks for the well wishes Rat.
I got to work fine. I had to come in as I had two meetings scheduled with my boss today. I didn't want to seem like a wimp and call out and miss these meetings, especially since one was to prepare for a meeting with the CEO on Monday.
Sadly, my boss didn't make it in. He totaled his car as he ran into the back of a dump truck!
To think...I could be sitting at home in front of a nice fire....Instead of being here smelling solvent!
Wow! my parents are buried in pagosa springs, co. The snow is up to the top of their windows around the house. @_@ Yeah. I think they've managed to keep the porches clear with a path to the outside. But the snow is insane! Hope you are doing well.
ooOOOooo Nice foto's! prutty enough to tempt a swan to its branches.. (oh wait, swans don't sit in trees lol!)
The old guy was asking for it.....

A rate from a Mosquito with almost nothing on her profile.

I really don't mind a low rate if SOME reason is given...even if it's obviously vindictive. But just a random 4...WTF?
So, I re-rated her based on what must be her criteria.

Teehee...its time to get the "Raid" out and spray, spray, spray!!
I'[ve noticed a hell of a lot of whelps and mossies giving low rates for apparently no reason. I can't help thinking they haven't been here long enough to appreciate a good profile - meaning they haven't seen enough of the bad ones yet!
Maybe she was in a bad mood? Who knows? You have one of the best profiles on the rave. I am rerating you a ten. She needs to learn a few things that is for sure.
The bull being smooooooth with the ladies in the zoo!

ROFL.
Oh gods but that was cute. :)
Everyone in my family claims there are ghosts in our house. Until last night, I basically thought they were full of crap.
David says he has seen the ghost of a young girl in his room. Gina, Allie and Chrisssy have all heard footsteps and sounds when no one is anywhere near the source of the sounds. Up until last night, I had not experienced anything at all like this.
I went to bed last night and pretty much went right to sleep. Around 2:00 AM I woke up as I felt that someone was shaking me trying to get me to wake up. Gina was asleep next to me and obviously had not tried to wake me (Which she sometimes does when I snore!). I assumed that I had been dreaming, so I got comfy again and started to go back asleep. Before I fell back asleep, however, I felt tapping on my shoulder, like someone trying to get my attention. I assume I had woken Gina, but I turn and she is facing away from me, softly snoring in her sleep. So I figure it was the cat, who will often bat me in the head if she wants out of our room in the middle of the night. Nope, no cat in the room. I even went out and checked where all the animals were...Cat #1...In bed with my son, Cat #2...asleep on the couch, Dog...heard me walking down the stairs and is spinning in circles at the base of the steps.
So...Who the hell woke me up and then tapped on my shoulder? My only conclusion is that I guess I now believe in ghosts...and there's one in our house. I sure hope it doesn't expect to be fed.

Just yell at it when it annoys you too much to help with the chores. It goes away for a little bit.
Or so I think so when the thing in my apartment irks me.
Sings for you "When something strange... is going on... who ya going to call GhostBusters!!" lol :)
Don't feel alone. There are two in my house. The ghosts of young lady and a very young boy haunt my house.
My ex didn't believe we had ghosts in our 87 year old house either- his loss. Just tell the spirit that you acknowledge that he/she is there, and you want to go back to sleep-
Mine is called Fred- he followed me through two jobs, three houses, and two countries- as long as I say hi once in awhile when he makes things move, we're good. Ignore him, and you do so at your own peril...lol
I know im hot when im angry...:D
You are a Church Elder..why not consider getting the house blessed? :)
Cool, cool! I love ghost hunting. Too bad you didn't live near here. Take some random digi pics around your house. =) You could also turn on the tape recorder and leave it to pick up some EVPs.
You might consider having the house blessed. We've tried that and it seems to work to an extent. Those that remain have never done anyone any harm, they just make their presence known from time to time.
So I check my "See who has rated you" area and go make sure I have rated the profiles and portfolios of those who have rated me. On the portfolio of one of the people who rated me was a photo from a museum in the town where I grew up.
So, I send her a message. It turns out that Polishsiren and I grew up on the same freakin' STREET!
What are the odds of running into someone on VR who grew up only a few houses away from you?
I am just amazed by this!

It's a small world aaaafter all. *punches self*
That is cool, I found someone who lived in the same town as I used to. I dun think we hit it off...Maybe we should meet in a park and duke it out. O.o
Well, it used to be a small world until Vampire Rave grew bigger!
And I got him more freaked out when I told him who my sister was since she is older than me and she ran with his crowd and I know his younger sister.
The funny thing about this is our little street is so hard to explain to people where the location is but most when I told him the name of it I think KCRC must have fallen off his chair. LOL
They say everything in life comes full circle.
Indeed, you are correct, I almost fell off my chair!
When My wife came home I made here come over to my computer as soon as she walked in the door.
"Gina, come see this....You are not going to believe this!" So she reads the message from Polishsiren that mentions the street we grew up on...."HOLY SHIT!" she exclaimed. "How wierd is THAT?"
We will have A LOT to talk about at the Meet-Up!
Just invite her a cup of tea...
=)
VR makes us lots of friends :) Nice to find one from your old neighborhood.
Spooky. What were the odds for that?!
Glad you were able to reconnect with someone from your past. VR is a wonder.
