As I've been buried in books lately, I haven't had the tv on much.

I turn on the news this morning, to find out that a very nice, popular former student of the college (my job) got stabbed to death at a mall on Christmas eve...WTF?

According to the story, he had asked two guys - brothers - to turn down their explicit rap music, as he didn't want his small son to hear it.

I know that when I return to work on the 3rd, the murder will be the main topic of every discussion.

I hope those two murderers get their karmic due soon.

Been very busy with my reading, writing, and mingling with my online writing buddies.

I may go to my sis' for Xmas, but on the other hand, I may just give everyone calls. I prefer to hunker down at home with the cats, until I have to return to work on the 3rd...lol

I feel like shit, so I called in sick this morning.

My stomach is finally settling down, but my muscles still hurt.

Time for more ibuprofen! And water!

I'm gonna' spend today with my writing, and try to finish the book that I'm reading.

And listening to a lot of Neurosis and Cult of Luna!

Last night during a party, there was a huge fire at an artists' live/work building, just a few streets away from where I live. So far, 9 people are confirmed dead, with as many as 40 fatalities, if the missing aren't accounted for (alive).

The local news has been covering this all day, with questions coming to the surface: Was the building coded for living? Note that there was only one entry/exit to each floor, with the stairs being made of crates (WTF)?

Helicopters are still flying about, as firefighters are still fighting hot spots, with the coroner there, cops, etc., to deal with whatever bodies come out of the building.

This is so damn sad.

Very busy. Got permanent at my job, so now I qualify for benefits, vacation pay, and other good shit. (I may still go the pharm tech route later on, but for now, I'm sticking with the school district).



I've been busy on another site, mingling and sharing ideas, along with getting advice from other writers. Love it!

(And I'm almost done with my two book projects, which will come out simultaneously. Soon, I hope.)
