I consider myself a pretty easy going person. This has taken years to achieve. Self control, learning to determine the difference between what is important to fight for and what isn't. I don't argue much. Though some people might disagree.



As a fan of foreign entertainment I find myself grateful for things like subtitles and honored when a foreign speaking person makes the effort to "speak"(type or text)and understand English. It shows a level of courtesy that I would never forcibly demand of another person.

When a person speaks to me; regardless the language or methodology, it is my job to make every attempt to understand. As surely it is their job to make every attempt at being understood and so the chain of communication...

Why should I expect the person I am speaking with to make all of the effort? It isn't right.

I get very annoyed with people who demand subtitles and translations. I don't rampage or rage. I think I eye-roll, deep sigh and possibly even teeth-grit. If you like their music, movies, television shows; meet them halfway and learn their language. Don't demand they use yours. Especially in their own home. that is just rude.
