Looks like the Navy took the falling satellite down last night. I was reading a article and learned it wasn't the first one to be shot down. Parts of the article:

In 1989, a U.S. fighter jet destroyed a U.S. satellite by firing a modified air-to-air missile into space from an altitude of 80,000 feet.

In January 2007, China used a land-based missile to destroy a 2,200-pound satellite that was orbiting 528 miles above the Earth. The impact left more than 100,000 pieces of debris orbiting the planet, NASA estimated -- 2,600 of them more than 4 inches across. The U.S. agency called the breakup of the Fengyun-C satellite the worst in history.

Who knew there was so much space junk floating above our heads? O.o

It just freaking fits. The one day I have company coming over is the day a long haul driver is going to fuck it up. Grrrrr.

I don't know why I ever try to plan anything on the weekdays. No stress there...none at all. (pulls hair out) Shipment is going to LUKE AFB in AZ. He left his company this morning to be here and get it off our truck as we picked the job up on the 12th. They are lagging on getting trucks in here to pick up shipments as this is the second that is here, waiting.

I always wanted to go to AZ. See the beauty of that state. I remember reading about a old Titan missile museum. I don't remember where it was- but it still has the missile in the silo, and you can go into the silo and visit the control room. I remember the article talked about how it was built- the walls not attached to the floor of the control room to handle the blast power.

And it was where the Star Trek First Contact was filmed- the missile shots. :) That is how I learned of it as I wanted to know where that shot was done, and found a article. Can to guess the location of the Kirks grave?

So- the driver is still two hours away and its 1:30 pm. Now take into account it will be around 3 1/2 to 4 hours to unload the shipment to his truck....

*sigh*

Why do I even try to do anything during the week?
