I'm too tired to decide whether I should Shit, Scream, Go Blind or Piss, Whine and Moan

Just a quick note:

The past three days have been irritating. It’s work related and I won’t bore anyone with details that are not at all gory as I didn’t end up killing anyone or even mildly bruising their ego (hey I’m improving), however it doesn’t change the fact that another mortal might have responded by frantic indecision over whether to shit, scream or go blind or equivocate with whining, pissing and moaning. Or even possibly a combination of the above.

Suffice to say that I will be getting back to all those who are waiting on things from me and those who think I’ve forgotten something, give me a nudge.

I’m going to fall down because I’m over tired from lack of sleep, overwork, over stressing, not killing or significantly maligning mooks and nincompoops.

Hugs to all

Bear

Well this is totally bogus

11:43 Aug 21 2007
Times Read: 598

I logged on this morning and there's a notice saying I have three new messages which in addition to the previous two that I'd read but hadn't had time to answer gave me five messages. However when I went to read them and answer them, the page says "You have 0 messages in your INBOX" and when I try to access my saved messages I get the following "You have 0 messages in your SAVED BOX" This is also bogus as I have been saving nearly every message sent to me.

So... I don't know what is going on but if someone is messing around with my account I'm not happy about it.

Hopefully it is just a server issue and will be rectified soon.

This past weekend

I did the following:

1) Bought a car

2) Went to Pennsic for 19+ hours

3) Went to see my girlfriend and make sure she was okay.

Yes it was a hectic weekend.

I finalised my car purchase on Friday at 5:30 pm, I now own a 2003 Chevrolet Impala LS. Very nice car.

I realised on the drive home that I could still get down to Pennsic for the last weekend, got there at 11:25 with 35 minutes to spare before the Gate closed for good, was the fourth last person to get in.

Got a message Saturday night about 7 pm that Dawn really wasn't well and headed her place to make sure she was okay. We spend some very important quality time and I was with her while she got through a rough patch medically. Thankfully she didn't need to go to the hospital as she feared. Her asthma was really bad.

Another movie review: Black Snake Moan

Well now, that was nigh on infinitely better. I highly recommend “Black Snake Moan” It’s got some wonderful blues music and great acting by all of the cast. Six out of 5 stars… at least compared to “The Wicker Waste Basket Case Man” as that piece of tripe I saw the other night should have been renamed. However, enough about that travesty, as I said, great performances, great music, great cinematography, production values and direction.

Wickerman Spoiler alert

22:56 Aug 06 2007

Well that was disappointing. I just finished watching the 2006 production of The Wicker Man and frankly I’m disappointed. I saw the original (the one it was based upon, if that’s not a big warning sign I don’t know what is) back when I was a wee bairn and frankly the 1973 one was significantly better.

Both have a ‘missing’ girl, a police officer, a sea plane, a pagan community with a charismatic leader and people wearing masks, oh and let’s not forget the titled feature, the large wicker man. Aside from that, the one from the 70’s far outclassed the remake.

The back story of how the community came together was much more plausible, the reason for the officer arriving (he flies his own seaplane for one) and the community’s structure are also more plausible. The egalitarianism of the 70’s version beats the anti-feminist attitude of fear mongering of a gynarchy, gynocracy or matriarchy that is the underlying theme of the modern version.

The officer in the first production finds out much more about the whole wicker man ritual and therefore is a willing sacrifice whereas Nicholas Cage’s character is a whining petulant puke that has to be duped into role and still requires having his legs broken.

For once, I’m on the side of “They don’t make ‘em like they used to.”

And they had such a good cast this time too, not that the previous cast was anything to sneeze at, but you would have thought with all that talent, they could have done some good work. I mean Cage was one of the producers of that piece of shite and I would have hoped he would have had a beneficial effect on the production, instead of allowing it to be turned into a sad and pathetic piece of dross that it was.

Well that’s my half groat on the subject.
