I spent part of last night watching the first half of a History Channel show about Vampires (Vampire Secrets). J. Gordon Melton (The Vampire Book), one of the contributors to the show, made a point that Christianity has vampiric/cannabalistic roots, being that in Communion one eats the body of Christ and drinks the Blood of Christ. Another author/contributor, Michelle Belanger (The Psychic Vampire Codex ) made the comparison between Christs' resseurection and the 'undead' vampires.
I just think these comparisons are a bit humorous, seen as how vampires are all sorts of evil. I do so love the similarities between the occult and mainstream religon, lol.

Surprising Salaries
Paramedics
What they do: Paramedics respond to emergency situations and attempt to provide the necessary medical care, whether it involves transporting patients to a hospital or treating them on the scene.
Surprising salary: $27,070.
Seeing as paramedics have high stress jobs that require them to be on call and ready to save lives at a moment's notice, you might expect their mean annual salary to be higher.

And one of my most favorite quotes from a movie about EMS...
"Saving someone's life is like falling in love - the best drug in the world... You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you..." - Frank Pierce, Bringing Out the Dead

While having breakfast with my dad in a diner, I looked out the window at the grey clouds and uttered the words, "This is going to be a weird day."
And I can safely say that it was, indeed, a weird day.
