Trying to knock out as much schoolwork as I can in the case of power outage. It's not ideal to be "creative" under pressure. Stress leads to pain flares and now I just popped a Celebrex and muscle relaxer.

I also put an amethyst around my neck. The stress is purely about quality assignments in a time crunch.

Stocked up on water, food that doesn’t need to be cooked, and charging all my external chargers to keep my phone going – just in case we lose power. Storm is coming in our direction and honestly… In my neighborhood we lose electricity just from a regular storm in general.

Last night I went to concert. My son and I. He got us tickets to see Childish Gambino. Honestly, I only know five of his songs and I do like those songs… But I really just wanted to go with my son because he was pumped. That being said, it really was an amazing concert. The man is a great entertainer and the crowd was infectious with excitement.

It should be a good evening that I hope to journal about later :)

A quick pause from schoolwork... I am studying and doing- I've told my tale on my Facebook page of being a writer my whole life. That is true. But now I am learning something very technical with limits. Limits that challenge you to create such gold a director needs to (or at least should) create it just as you intend. Once you sell your screenplay- it may not manifest the way you'd hoped.

It's time for me to take the leap and get slammed by professionals so I can learn. No better place to get slammed than in school. That doesn't mean getting a bad grade- I could get a 100% but still have some excellent critique.

When I am finished with this program and get my feet in the water, I can even see myself writing a "How To" book. I can *see* it, but that must be in a world where I have successfully done it.

I’ll replace my main profile photo tomorrow – I deleted it, and I’m having some issues putting a new one up from my phone. I’ll get on my computer and rectify this tomorrow sometime.

I was talking to my son earlier about never having anyone really care about my grades when I was a kid – nobody asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and there were no expectations of me either. I really don’t understand that. I was always interested in my son’s schoolwork and also what his plans were. All through his childhood I kept him motivated with his grades – as well as in college, I always inquired.

So here I am, 50 years old and back in school. I’m doing really well and I don’t have an elder to answer to… No parent or grandparent to be proud of what I’m doing. I’m kind of 50/50 in wishing I had that and believing i’s kind of even cooler to be doing well with no pressure from someone else. I don’t know… Maybe it’s not 50/50… Obviously it bothers me.

I know that feeling you are talking about though... No one ever inquired or pushed me to do well. I have always been involved and taken notice of my oldests grades and since I home school the youngest... it goes without saying. lol. I think it was the lack of interest I received that helped me know that is NOT how I wanted things for my children.

Not sleeping well. The last few days have sucked… It takes me forever to fall asleep, I’m up through the night – and then I wake up early because other people are awake and I just don’t have any peace.

Maybe something can help me. I do have legal medical marijuana in the form of a tincture. I’m going to grab a dose of that and get back in bed. Hopefully I can have some luck.

All joking aside, I do have one technique that's worked for me pretty consistently- Imagine yourself, your mind, as a rock in a stream and your thoughts and the water flowing around you, over you, through you. The rock is dissolving into the water and flowing away with the thoughts. Might take a few attempts, especially if there's a lot of cluttered thoughts.

I've had sleep issues my whole life. Meds and other supplements stop working after a bit. I think I need to run myself into the ground physically on the regular to try and assist. But I already do a lot.

I've been using it for a couple months now. I finish school December 2026 - but I should have a few scripts ready to pitch by then. That doesn't mean they'll get picked up... but I'll be on the path.
