I just put a dish of moistened fruit bits into the crab tank. Two crabs came right away and had some, two little ones held back and the biggest one was still snoozing. I scooted the little ones up to the dish so they could get some, and the littlest one crawled right into the dish, sort of trembled with happiness and started in on a bit of dried cranberry.
After a bit, he snuggled up in a corner of the dish for a snooze. The others are toddling around, working off their snack. :)
I woke up to the familiar clunk, clunk sound of my big crab's shell hitting the glass tank. I wondered what he was up to, so I wandered out to the front room and turned on the light.
There was Boris, all changed into a new shell, and in a little semi-circle around him were the 4 little crabs, watching! It was so cute I laughed and scared him and he froze...I think he was showing off his new shell to the little guys. I had put some bigger shells in the tank this weekend and he was intrigued, poking into them and turning them round to test them out.
He is my last big crab, with his new shell now he is about the size of my closed fist. I think he will like this shell as my other big crab, Clawde had it for a long time. Boris can now get around easier and fit into the crab hut better!
The sight of the little ones sitting watching him was too cute. I wished I had a photo!

How sweet! I'd love to see the lil' 'uns around the big 'uns as well!
Ok- I so don't know anything about crabs. :) But it does sound cute.
