The evening was unpredictable and held more fascination than expected. The only downside was the plethora of married women that hit on me. It's something that goes on a lot around here and it really pisses me off.



Because of Daylight Savings time, the bars were open until 3am. I didn't get home until almost 4...



I have a slight hangover, but it's manageable.



A couple of my friends want to start going to bars in Houghton, where there is a *tiny* goth scene. None of them are goth, but I think I inspired them last night.

And so I am done dressing. It took me about 4 hours start-to-finish. It would've been half that had I not been doing self-portraits, uploading photos, and doing Journal entries.



Many would disagree this is a Halloween costume (as would I)... However this is the one night of the year I can dress the way I want to and not get stoned in this town.

People assume that when you shave your head, getting ready to go out is much easier and quicker. While is does make mornings faster, I spend at least as much time 'doing my hair' as I did when my hair was down to my ass.

Okay, another reason I am growing to hate where I live....



At 7:30pm, friends of mine (John and Leanne) were having a bunch of people over for dinner before we went out for the night. Leanne just called and canceled.



Apparently one of the couples (who is having marital problems) basically sabotaged the whole evening.



This is not going to affect me going out, but I was looking forward to going to John and Leanne's.. I don't get to see them a whole lot and they're fun people. Leanne said they may hang with me tonight, but she wasn't sure yet.. She'd try to call later.



It's kind of a deflater when 4 couples cancel out on your dinner party.

If you live in a hurricane zone you don't have the right to bitch about hurricanes. You choose to live there, so suck it up. I don't complain when I get dumped on with 300+ inches of snow each winter. If it ever gets to the point where I can't take the blizzards and -20 degree weather anymore I will move.



Listening to ya'll bitch is kind of like listening to those Mississippi river folk who whine and cry when their houses are washed away every 5 years (and then they rebuild and do it all over again).



I would never live in the southeast. Period. I really have no idea what the allure of Florida is. Hot, muggy, raining, tons of hurricanes, and its only a matter of time before a tsunami takes out the east coast. Oh, and there were tornado's in Miami Beach a few years ago too...

One week until the Halloween party. The only night of the year I get to dress normal in this town.



A few of my friends here have been gently pushing me to dress goth whenever I go out. I'm sure my attire will go over great next Saturday, but that doesn't mean I can walk down main street in fishnet any odd day....



On the other hand... Tonight I stopped at the one bar in town I can stand. I wore my VR Hoodie and it was quite the attention grabber. Feminine fingers tracing the embroidered outline of the bat is always pleasing.

I guess I incorrectly believed VR was a site to host profiles to discuss and promote yourself…. And took pride in presenting people as they actually ARE.

Allowing and encouraging voting on peoples profiles, kinda encourages that thought.

And my profile is pure ME. Real, and unadulterated. My opinions are mine, weather anyone agrees with them or not.



So I guess once again, the world is compromised by lack of freedom. You DO believe in freedom of expression, right?? Even unpopular thoughts….. I mean, as a member of a societal fringe society, you kind of have to believe in freedom, right??? Otherwise YOU would be censored on a fairly regular basis. Tyrants in governments work to remove those freedoms from us daily, yet some people PERSUE the concept of freedom. In life, existence, and reality!



Other people complain they cant express themselves loudly enough in society, and then make sure they are as guilty of the same transgressions as the dictators that hold them back as well.



I am one of those people who truly values freedom. In more than the mere word. Even if I don’t agree, or despise the thought, you have the same right to express it as much as I do. But censorship is lack of freedom entirely. And what use is a site to me if I cant express myself AS myself??? I have no desire to be or pretend to be anyone else.



I believed you had seen that post long ago, and chose to refrain from comment. I guess not. Even after inviting your mediation in a dispute with an admin, all I got was a brush off. An emperor content to ignore his realm, whilst the liege lords do as they please. Another incident, and you still allowed the wound to fester with nothing but a brush off in my direction. So I wrote what I did in anger. An anger I believe justified. I’d almost forgotten about it, since it was atleast 3 months ago…. Well, I would’ve except I seem to keep hearing from people commending that particular rant, since they too have had run in’s with a few people misusing their authority.



As for all the work you’ve put into this site. Yes, it has been appreciated. But remember you created a COMMUNITY site. And for several months I was a part of that community.

Your financial expenditure…. Yeah, I know it costs to keep anything up and running. But isn’t it the USERS who generate the hits that justifies the money you make from advertisers????

I feel it a shame that u’re prepared to let such an interesting individual go….



I encourage you to think about the things I’ve written here, now the ardor of your anger has had time to fade. Think with an open mind. Do you really want a member to disappear?? And are you prepared to accept the knowledge that you are as guilty of censorship as a government, and have no right left to complain about it without admitting your hypocrisy????



Above all, I thank you for the time I’ve spent, and the friends I’ve made here. And for the time to download and save all the info I have on my profile. Shame it’s come to this.

I only vaguely remember the incident you refer to, and I could not cite supporting details.



What members fail to realize, is that if they come to me with allegations of abuse by an Administrator, they must also provide convincing supporting evidence. When there is a lack of such evidence, I will always side with the Administrator. To act in any other manner would be inappropriate.



Concerning Daire, he is by far the best of the VR Administrators. He follows the guidelines I have set down to the letter, and he enforces them without exception. As such, he tends to get a bad rap. But the fact of the matter is, he is the best at following VR policy and always takes action regardless of how it may make him look publicly.



Freedom of speech and/or expression is a valid concept when one lives in seclusion. Using the United States as an example (where such freedom is so highly touted), one does not have unfettered free speech. If you go on television or radio and make erroneous comments it is called slander. If you print erroneous comments it is called libel. Both cases can lead to defamation of character civil suits. In some countries, defamation is a violation of criminal law. No one has unfettered free speech.



Taking the issue further...



Is a telemarketer's free speech honored when the opposite party hangs up the phone (or blocks/screens the call)?



Can a Nambla representative walk into your house, stand in front of you while you are sitting on your sofa, and make you listen while they express their freedom of speech in the form of how beneficial man-child love relations are?



Freedom of speech as it is so commonly touted does not exist. It is a flawed concept.



Vampire Rave is no different. A member does not have the right to put forth any view they wish. We moderate the Forum. We maintain strict guidelines in regard to Portfolio and Article content. It is not unreasonable to look at a Profile that contains libel content concerning a VR Administrator(s) or a VR member(s) and demand that libel content be removed.



If you wish to revise the offending portion of your Profile and word it in a non-libel yet still opinionated way, that is acceptable. However as it currently exists it is not acceptable.

You have three options:

You can correct your Profile. Respect will be shown to those that donate their time for the betterment of Vampire Rave.

You can self-delete your membership. This would be a good option to pursue if you feel correcting your Profile would be a violation of your ethics.

You can do nothing. VR has Administrators. We'll delete your membership for you.



You have 24 hours.

I guess thats what happens when a useless suck up is friends with an admin, and the webmaster is too weak to control the crowd of people he has running the site in his name.



You see, everyone, the situation is this. I had a few comments left on my profile. firstly my sexuality was impuned, but i thaught "looser" and let it pass. After being called a creep, (as pathetic an insult as that is) i decided to retaliate, and left a commont on that idiot's profile.

Dont even bother looking for them, since ALL those comments mysteriously vanished immediately prior to my suspension.



When an idiot like dhampire insults you, you had best not fight back. He will just run off to his friendly pet administrator (daire) who is as big an idiot with his unthinking and illiterate ramblings about the nature of copyright which he obviously knows nothing about.



Then he will suspend you, and then you are screwed for awhile. When your soulmate contacts cancer as to the unfairness of this situation, he will respond along the lines of "duh" and be absolutely useless in gaining fairness. He wont overturn an inappropriate decision, nor will he accept the fact that if on profile fighting is not to be tolerated (even though the terms and conditions speak that admins dont get involved in personal confrontations) it would have been fair to remove us both......

though my strike was retaliatory, i guess dhampir shoulda been the first to go, right???



Rule number one on VR: dont expect fairness or compotence from admins. Deal with VR like life. Accept the fact that almost everyone else is a total fucking moron, and the few people who arent arent going to be able to help you.



Rule number 2: admins will cover their own tracks. Kinda like corrupt cops. Give a worthl;ess incompotent alittle power, and watch them abuse it.



Rule number 3: make sure you collect your actual friends alternate email addresses, so you can stay in touch with them every time you're suspended.

She is attempting to take credit for something that she had absolutely no involvement in whatsoever. She cannot replicate her 'hacking' and she gives excuses when asked to do so.
