A small clip from the most recent episode of Breaking Bad. It shows how great the acting is in this series. It may be the best show currently airing on television.
If you don't know, Breaking Bad is about a high school chemistry teacher who learns he has cancer. He's broke, so he starts cooking up crystal meth to provide for his family and pay his medical bills. The meth he cooks is the purest ever created and everyone wants a piece of him. Now in season 4, Walt (the chemistry teacher) is at the center of a massive drug empire.
Clip is under 2 minutes.
A member sent me this link after reading my solar water sterilization member page. I posted that page more as an example of the diversity that's allowed in member pages. However, this video is quite interesting:

I can't embed the video as it's from Reuters.

wow. That is one of the coolest ideas I've seen, yet probably the simplest and cheapest to implement :D
Solar simplicity at its best.
just went and watched the video ! ingenious that is a great idea .and the way the word is going people need to remember how it was done we might need it here before long
I had to pass that one on. That is just too cool.
Similar to the concept once used in whaling ships. Back then they embedded a pyramid shape glass into the deck to get light below decks.
Love the way the bleach was added, and the five year limit is about the same for our light-bulbs, give or take.
Now...if someone can make these for camping tents...

That site is dead. It's not competition anymore. Hasn't been for a few years now.
Just a last ditch effort to stay on life support I guess.
Okay, I'm going to stop with the bad medical puns...
Well, as I understand it, MySpace still has a lot of non-American users.
Yeah, and 'Tom' the creator of MySpace is now on Facebook.
But Facebook holds the majority share of global users.
Well, until Google+ goes completely live.
At any rate, I think I'll stick with VR as my only social networking site ever.
I rather not end up like a product sold off to advertising agents like Facebook does.
Been on facebook, so far haven't had anything sold to me. I like facebook. I like being able to see glimpses of family and friends who are scattered throughout the country.
Didn't twitter do this too?
Now that's a truly horrid program.
Well, they can't rightly market MySpace ON MySpace... they have to market it on a site where people actually log on...
yeah well...MySpace does nothing. It wasn't all that easy to set up an account (which I did purely to talk to Dave Grohl), apart from that there was nothing whatsoever to keep me there.
Facebook is also boring as hell. Hate how it looks, hate the games and hate how the adverts keep on popping up. I write or email friends and family or call them to keep in touch.
At the risk of repeating myself, VR has it all for me. I like all the options you've given us. I can log on and just read, I can write, or I can mess around in forums, webcams, or just fix my profile. There is always something to learn from people who offer so much more than updates on what they had for dinner or equally mundane events :P
I keep trying to delete my Myspace profile and they still haven't followed through....
So, more out of boredom than desire, I went to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I was expecting the movie to totally suck. Of all the Apes movies I've seen (including that stupid Tim Burton one), only the original was any good.
Well... I was very surprised. The movie wasn't anything like I expected. Two-thirds of the movie is character development. You really come to empathize with Caesar. In the end I was rooting for the apes, which is kind of stupid when I think about it. But nonetheless, I wanted them to win.
It's just a good movie. There's one point, right before the ape riot starts up, where a worker says, take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape! An obvious harken back to the original film, and it sounds kinda cheesy. But what happens next (and I won't ruin it for you) totally took me by surprise. It was a shocker moment and that's rare in film nowadays (as everything has been done and redone too many times to count).
My only complaint was the ending. It's kind of lame, but there wasn't too many other ways it could end. The story gets so built up that you'll expect more and may be let down.
All in all a *really* great movie.

A couple of things I forgot to mention.
Tom Felton (Malfoy) is the abusive chimp-keeper. He's pretty much Malfoy without a wand.
The actor who plays Caesar is the same actor who played Kong in King Kong and Gollum in the Lord of the Rings.
And, John Lithgow is in the movie. I don't remember him being in *any* of the trailers. But maybe he was... I'll have to go back and watch them again.
So I went back and watched the main trailer. John Lithgow is in it for like half a second.
Also, whoever edited that trailer is a genius. There are so many parts of it that don't jive with the movie. Scenes with dialog that doesn't match up, cutting of dialog, etc. It's what a trailer is suppose to be... Misleading.
Well, thats a new one.
I'll have to check it out, thanks.
I'm actually looking forward to The Planet of the Apes. I haven't seen the originals simply because they're a bit corny looking. :P
You're doing a public service with the movie reviews, Cancer. :P
Awesome. I was hoping to see it this weekend but it looks like I need to wait till next weekend. I was hesitant about seeing it, but it's good to hear it'll be worth it.
That is one movie I am dying to see. I loved the originals but its good to know this one holds it's own.
I want the apes to win too by the way LOL
I can't wait to watch it.
I may actually watch this movie. I see maybe 4 in a year. :) Thanks!
What great timing to see this! We were going tonight, but I was ready to be let down. I'm excited that maybe I won't be now. Thank you for the review :)
I *love* this movie. It had me going "holy shit" and "Did that just happen?" the entire time.
Plus, I love how it shows the development of the species as well as how it all came into play. Definitely had me on the edge of my seat at the point where the abusive chimp handler told him to get his paws off of him. His response- was epic.
Great movie. :)
I think the movie teaches us that basic human compassion, should never be forgotten.
True Blood was a really good episode tonight. But if Jessica is cinder I'm going to be pissed.

Ditto.
I don't think they will kill her off she is Bill's prodigy.
They can kill people off at any time no matter who they are, of course- the only reason I don't think they will in this case is that they just started this storyline with her and Jason's new dreams and thoughts with her blood running through his veins- and her confession of lost feelings for Hoyt... also not showing an actual death at the end of the show. I am sure Jason will make it to the door and save the day. And that will only further their bond.
I totally agree......plus if she dumps Hoyt for Jason i'll be equally pissed!
and Images is quite correct.......I don't think they would kill her off....What suprised me the most is when Jason went OH SHIT JESSICA.....and ran to Bill's house...it makes me think that the bond is ALOT stronger than with Hoyt....but I like the relationship that her and Hoyt have.....it looks like Bill and Sookie's relationship a bit...Only a bit......
I'm also interested to see what happens with Lafayette....and the spirit that's following mikey
yeah i will be too ")
