a somewhat confusing issue for me is how our lovely commercialist states cannot suffer people to live 'less they are contributing to the country through a job or source of employment, hearkens back to the times when all who turned some profit must contribute some of their wares and cash to the king's treasury, or the later middle age, introduction of taxes which also went to pleasure the monarchy.

Now it seems all must contribute both through taxes or a roundabout contribution to society, why is it that no-one seems to just be able to set up and think about just owning their own lives and catching their next meal instead of HAVING to embark on a pointless and demeaning career???
