Damn it

Times Read: 524

I have kidney stones - AGAIN. Second time in as many years.

I knew I shouldn't have had that damned artichoke/goat cheese delicious pizza.

Sure, I said, "This is so good - it's worth it!"

Time had dulled the memory of the pain, apparently.

But I will live. Although right now it doesn't feel like it. Where are those pain meds?!?

Thanks - I am sure I will once this passes. At least it's not deadly - I have lived through it once before.

And, according to my mother, after these, childbirth will be a breeze.

What doesn't kill you, right?

17:37 Oct 25 2010

man, took two different doses (one hydrocoden 8 hr and one ketro-something 4 hr) and the pain still woke me up three times. Not that I slept well in between. Called out from work today - third time since 2004. going to keep up the meds and drink lots of fluid - this is worse than last time. Hopefully they will pass today and I can go back to my usual cheerful self tomorrow.

Three day weekend! Three days of NOT being at work. Going to catch up on errands, house cleaning, my book, and work on writing/drawing this weekend, too, I hope. Now, off to the eye doctor.

Purple

19:20 Oct 20 2010
Times Read: 532

I am wearing purple today in memory of those that have committed suicide due to the amount of bullying and intolerance they experienced due to being homosexual.

I want to say, that while I don't condone suicide, it is sad that there are intolerant people out there that will bully and harass another person to the point that they are willing to give up.

I mean, come on. They aren't asking YOU to be gay, are they?

Everyone deserves the right to live their own life as it makes sense to them, as long as they aren't intentionally looking to hurt anyone else in the process.

Grow up - and if you don't like homosexuals, don't be one. Then you won't have to be around them.

Life Lessons

19:11 Oct 19 2010
Times Read: 540

Some of these sayings are my own, others are statements that are taken from others, but true just the same:

~Yes, my mother was right.

~There is no clean like a tweeker clean (but they are likely to steal your stuff, so lock it up).

~There are those that will be in your life forever, and those that come and go, but it's best to cherish each friendship as if it will be the first, and look back fondly on those that have left footprints on your heart.

~Some people never learn from their mistakes. Accept it, and do the best you can to learn from both yours and theirs.

~You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

~Sometimes a nap will fix everything, if not, try chocolate and a good book.

~Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

~An empty vessel makes the most noise.

~The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.

~Hindsight is always twenty-twenty - The best choice is obvious when you can see how events played out.

~If you're in a hole, stop digging.

~It's better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt.

~It takes both rain and sunshine to make rainbows.

~Laugh when you're happy, cry when you're sad, and do both when you're the happiest you've ever been.

~Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.

~The one that annoys you today may become the one that you miss tomorrow.

~What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

~It's better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you are not.

~Feel comfortable in your own skin - being true to yourself will bring you peace.

~All the high school drama doesn't matter in real life - if you make it through that, you can do anything.

cold medicine ramblings

Times Read: 549

Well, today ended up being wasted. Spent mostly on the couch under a blanket, or in here on the PC with my foot heater going full blast. (Thanks, hubby! BEST PRESENT EVER!!)

Hate feeling like crap - especially when it interferes with my plans. It's not like I plan a lot of stuff.

Also wanted to work more on my Halloween story today, to get that posted. Just can't find the motivation, even though I have the starting premise down...maybe I need to develop some of the characters to get a jump on things.

relax?

Sometimes seems I have forgotten the meaning of the word. I have so much going on this weekend, I am trying to figure out how to juggle it all.

Going to have to turn down some invites - I am already feeling busier than I do at work - and if I don't recuperate a little bit from this long week, I won't be much help to anyone come Monday.

But looking forward to visiting with friends and family just the same.

rambling

18:35 Oct 14 2010
Times Read: 565

Man, I HATE it when people accept a position that requires others to rely on them, then decide to not show up to work. Makes for a great freakin' day, when I get to do the work of three people and still have the same expectations for the day.

And when people complain ABOUT everything. "You are too loud!" "There are too many people by me!" "Stop playing with your chinese yo-yo!" "Can I just sit in a corner by myself because I hate THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE?"

Geez. Sorry that your bitch-itis is flaring up today, but you chose this job WORKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE and chose AN EVENING SHIFT. Both require you to DEAL WITH PEOPLE that are sometimes dumb and (as far as employees go) more laid back.

Calm down and at least try to get some pleasure out of work, since you deal with these people more often than you likely see some of your family members.

WTH is my brain thinking?

17:18 Oct 12 2010
Times Read: 579

Had a mix of the weirdest dreams the last two nights. Can't even remember them all in detail.

What I do remember is losing my shoes at work, walking through the rain, and getting massaged by my previous assistant, who was wearing pastel blue lipstick.

Which are both things he would NEVER do.

Weirdness. Maybe I have been too focused on work lately. Can't wait for vacation next month.

Looked at a dream dictionary (just 'cause):

Shoes ~ If you dream that you lose your shoes, then it suggests that you are searching for your identity and finding yourself.

Blue ~ Blue represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. Perhaps you are expressing a desire to get away. The presence of this color in your dream, may symbolize your spiritual guide and your optimism of the future. You have clarity of mind. Alternatively, the color blue may also be a metaphor for "being blue" and feeling sad. If you are wearing light blue in your dream, then it symbolizes your creativity. You like to pace yourself in whatever you are doing.

Massage ~ To dream that you are getting a massage, suggests that you are lacking sensual or sexual stimulation in your waking life. You need to be more in touch with your sensuality. Perhaps you need to take better care of your body. The dream also represents nurturance, ease and comfort. Alternatively, getting a massage suggests that you need to let go and stop being so defensive.

Rain ~ To see and hear rain falling, symbolizes forgiveness and grace. Falling rain is also a metaphor for tears, crying and sadness. Alternatively, rain symbolizes fertility and renewal. If you get wet from the rain, then it indicates cleaning from your troubles and problems. To dream that you are watching the rain from a window, indicates that spiritual ideas and insights are being brought to your awareness. It may also symbolize fortune and love. To hear rain tapping on the roof, denotes spiritual ideas coming to fruition in your mind.

Co-worker ~ To see your coworkers in your dream, highlights aspects of your waking relationship with them, including difficulties/support. It signifies your ambition, struggles and competitive nature. If the coworkers in your dream are not your actual coworkers, then they may pertain to some psychological business that you need to work on. Work-related dreams can also often be linked to stress at work. This particular co-worker is very passionate, and sometimes quick to temper. But I did get him on the path to his recent promotion.

Job ~ To dream about your current job, suggests that you need to work harder or be more effective at work. There may be something or some task that must be done at once. Or the dream may mean you are overworked or preoccupied with work. You need to make time for leisure and relaxation.

Vampire wine

19:29 Oct 11 2010
Times Read: 585

Usually I am not a big fan of buying wine, as the good ones are way out of my price range. But I was on my other favorite website, and saw this from Vampire Vineyards

Have any of you tried wine from them? Is it any good?

I may be buying some later tonight if it isn't sold out - would be a great addition to a Halloween party, I think.

Hell on earth

So, after what started to be a good day (and ended up being mentally exhausting)...I am glad my weekend is finally here.

I plan on updating my profile for Halloween, and maybe entering the poetry and story part as well...darn creative blocks. A good night's sleep will hopefully lower them.

Ever have one of those paranoid days when you feel like every whisper, every quiet conversation, is about you?

And, not in a good way.

Hate wondering if people are whispering evils behind my back...mostly because I hate doubting myself as a leader, and if I can't earn the trust and respect of most of my minions, that throws a big wrench in my plans to be an effective boss...

Was a blast. Got a bit tipsy with co-workers. didn't realize the boss was paying for us all out of pocket.

Now I plan on doing something nice for her this week...maybe make her some pumpkin or banana bread or something...

Cause, it's nice to return the favor...especially since our collective happy hour tab and dinner was probably easily at least $200 out of her pocket.

But I am not at work! Relaxing, making spaghetti for dinner for me and the hubby, a bit of cleaning, reading, and maybe some drawing later...

although I should do that while it's still light out.
