Just got word from my daughter. Grandkid has a fever. Maybe no trick or treat tonight.
She has been trick or treating all week though. Halloween parties with other little kids is likely how she got sick.
Wild, just wild.
I finally went to replace the ID that was stolen in 2020.
Long story but I will keep it short. My ID was stolen at a time when going to the DMV was a miserable pain in the ass because it was by appointment only and I have few transportation options. I couldn't request a new one because I didn't know the ID number. All this time I have been waiting for it to be convenient for someone to take me because I didn't want to put anyone out and frankly I have no use for an ID anymore.
Today my husband decided to renew his so I rode along.
Nowhere on the applications does it ask when I lost the ID but the person at the window actually asked what I have been using for ID all this time. I didn't tell them when I lost it; for all they know I lost it yesterday. WTF
Anyway got the new ID, can't vote in the fed this year, don't care because the important stuff is local.
The end
Last night was our first bonfire of the fall.
We looked at stars until clouds came in and then sat there a little longer just looking at what was left of the fire.
Grandkid was stoked and she couldn't sit still. It was her job to feed the fire and she did it well, until mom came to get her.
I went to a local flea market yesterday, specifically for weekend trick or treat with the grandkid. She refused the dinosaur costume from 2022.
She had fun though pickings were thin only an hour in. Apparently vendors started out doing what they usually do, placing the candy bucket where kids could reach, but this year adults were walking off with handfuls of candy. People ran out fast. Some vendors were able to reclaim control of their buckets but others just ran out quickly.
Luckily our little dinosaur isn't candy obsessed so the candy she got was actually a lot and she didn't care.

If you like bugs and lizards I recommend watching a YouTube channel called antscanada.
Last night I went to a Fall festival with my daughter's family and some friends. I spent a lot of time chasing the grandkid; through a corn field and really all over the place.
I did spend some time alone too. I wanted to watch my daughter interact with her child.
She is 27 and acted like a tired old lady. For the first time in years I actually played on playground equipment and even did one of those barrel roll things.

Sounds invigorating!
Sometimes are youth is seen, but small things that intertwine our lives. For age no matter the stage now a days seems to age faster within. Enjoy the times of youth and age. Glad you had fun.
I just learned that Anthony Perkins hosted a horror series in 1990.
1990 to 1992 I was in a government vocational institution so I didn't watch much television; I was always working, but finding this series is kind of neat.
I just made a totally lazy lasagna. I hope it tastes good.
Edit:
It was the best lasagna I have ever made.

Busy weekend and today is the first real break.
I marvel at the audacity of humanity in the face of the raw power of nature; and I laugh at the ability of humanity to make a situation so much worse than it had to be.
No matter where you are or what you are facing; being alive is better than the alternative.
