The castle walls crumble

making way for modern things

leaving the decay of dreams long gone

the days of yore and glory past

knights with armor of silver and gold

with mace and sword, the weapons of war

have been replaced by men in suits

the weapons no longer and art.

Mass destruction is the goal

Machines do the work of the kings

who have never seen a blattlefield

or smelled the blood of the fallen warriors

Valhalla holds no place for them now.

One more war of modern time

will blot the stars from the mornful skies.

From this darkness will come the light

the castle walls rebuilt

honor restored to the land

the kings must pull their weight

fighting alongside the men they condemn

rather then hiding in ivory towers.

I long for the day of yore

of knights in shining armor

where the power comes from the heart

not the weapons of war.
