My last journal entry of the year then I’m off.

Unlike some of you who will be off to dances and discos I will be baby sitting. But you know what? I will love it! It’s what I wanted, that short straw was meant for me, no seriously I’m good with it!!

Now piss off …..

Happy New Year VR

Vampirewitch39 thinks I’m sick following a comment left on a mutual friend’s journal!

Since ‘friend’ is the important word here I wonder why it was not seen as a bit of fun and that one Brit can have a dig at another Brit and still be friends. I think some things get lost when typing and of course there is that difference with British and American humour and how things get lost in translation.

I have much respect for the person whose journal I commented in (and she knows it) and indeed for her partner. I did have respect and time for VW too but I think some things need to be said with less haste.

Oh the drama **faint**

...on with happier entries.

I, one hundred per cent agree with you. There isn't any requirement to go straight to the deepend when one hasn't wet their toes in shallow waters.

Dig's can be fun if you understand the humour of our culture but just because others speak English it doesn't mean they understand neither and especially if they are from a foreign country. The cultural difference between America and Britain in my opinion is vast.

Gosh guys. It was a joke. I knew you was kidding around.

I mean- her own words was joking around about her sore lip and the trip to the Dr., your post was a joke,,,, did you think I took it as anything but as a joke?

Seems you really don't know me.

I think the whole thing was a misunderstanding. I thought you both were sweet and funny. Stabb and I laughed at the comments. The worst thing about your comments was that it stretched my sore lip when I smiled. Ow!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

I finished the wrapping last night. In fact I finished everything that need to be done, I’m so proud of myself. Now I’m looking out the window at my car … well I’m looking at the snow that has engulfed my cay. Should I free the beast now or just get up early tomorrow as we may have more snow. Did I just say ‘get up early’? Better do it now and hope for no more snow!

Britain last week and now it's back till (estimated) February.

Blatantly stolen from Imagesinwords!

Here's something that doesn't cost a dime- this was sent by a friend today, and everyone should consider a few seconds of their time to do this:

Go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com You can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

It is FREE and it only takes a second. Whether you are for or against the war, our military members over there need to know we are behind them.

This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do.

It is a good idea.. I wonder if there is a similiar idea for the British Forces. As much as I support America I would rather wish our lads a Merry Christmas as so many of them gave their lives serving here in Northern Ireland.
