It was late and I knew that I wasn't really supposed to be out. I was taking the path along the wooded way. I had been told many times that it was to dangerous to go out there by myself, especially when the moon was a big white orb in the sky.

I didn't believe any of the stories. It was just a wives tale wasn't it? I kicked at the dust on the path. I was hurt. My heart was breaking and I didn't care at that moment if the stories were true or not. I just didn't care. I walked with no purpose, just walked. My feet fell softly on the red earth.

I stopped walking and looked up to the sky. I sighed and stared. The clouds were moving slowly across the sky, as if it were going to rain.

I sighed and started walking again. I took a small glance around me to see where I was. I saw a small clearing to the left of me and I headed that way, off the path. It was a nice little clearing.

I found a stump to sit on and leaned my head back, supporting my weight on my hands, pressed against the stump.

A small breeze blew and my hair lifted from my shoulders as if it wanted to follow the breeze. The smell of pine and moonflowers drifted on the wind. I smiled, this was nice.

I heard a sound, as if water was running through a small stream somewhere close. I laughed, a soft sound, but loud in the quiet of the forest.

"Stupid water," I scolded. "Rushing to nowhere..what's the hurry?"

I giggled, then stopped feeling silly. I sighed and leaned back once again. Then, I heard it. A small sound. It sounded as if leaves were cracking.

Another breeze blew threw and whistled through the trees.

I stood up. "Who's there?" I asked the walking darkness. I looked around and fought not to get scared.

That was when I saw it. Two eyes, yellow from the light of the moon. I caught a gasp in my throat.

Was I followed, or did you hunt me down? I wondered to myself.

"Umm..hello?" I asked the two eyes that were coming closer and closer.
