As Dad and I had sat and chatted awhile as we drank our tea, we had debated as to why man has two eyes and was it an illustration that there was a grand design, whether it be divine, or accidental.
The question must be asked though, why do we, like the majority of animals, have two eyes a nose and mouth, in roughly the same place on each species?
And yes, it ould also be viewed as part of a greater philosophical debate, much like the old chicken and egg. You know the one: “Which came first, the chicken, or the egg?’
Or… ‘Who came first, man or woman?’
All of these are interesting questions. Yet currently I find the one relating to the why do we have two eyes most interesting… as the answers pose yet more questions.
I wonder, what others think about the theory of a 'grand design', that made us who we are?
...to avoid distraction and maintain focus, I use my mania... tho... current disappointment is a distraction, that is proving difficult to work round.
This is the English version of ‘thoughts are free’, the poem that Hans Litten read, to 'celebrate' Hitler's forty-second birthday.
It was popularized by Pete Seeger and was sung as a leftist protest song during the McCarthy era:
Die Gedanken sind frei
My thoughts freely flower,
Die Gedanken sind frei
My thoughts give me power.
No scholar can map them,
No hunter can trap them,
No man can deny:
Die Gedanken sind frei!
I think as I please
And this gives me pleasure,
My conscience decrees,
This right I must treasure;
My thoughts will not cater
To duke or dictator,
No man can deny–
Die Gedanken sind frei!
And if tyrants take me
And throw me in prison
My thoughts will burst free,
Like blossoms in season.
Foundations will crumble,
The structure will tumble,
And free men will cry:
Die Gedanken sind frei!
Neither trouble or pain
Will ever touch me again.
No good comes of fretting,
My hope’s in forgetting.
Within myself still
I can think as I will,
But I laugh, do not cry:
Die Gedanken sind frei!
Having learnt more of the Hans Litten and what made fellow someone who could ‘cross’ Hitler for a belief, I wanted to share a little of what made him, with a wider audience.
loneliness isn't longing for company, its longing for kindred souls

1/8 cup = 1 english ounce
Rock Cakes
Plain buns containing fruit and spice, which are baked in small heaps on a tin or baking sheet. The mixture must not be too wet or the buns will spread and lose their ‘rocky shape.’
Rock Cakes
8 oz self-raising flour 2-4 oz dried fruit
A pinch of salt 1 oz finely chopped candied peel
3-4 oz sugar 1 egg
half tsp mixed spice 3-4 oz fat
Plus ~ Milk to mix
Sieve together the dry ingredients and rub in the fat. Add the prepared fruit and candied peel. Beat the egg and add to the mixture, together with sufficient milk to make a stiff dough. Pile into about 12 rocky heaps on a greased tin and bake in a fairly hot oven (400F – mark 6) for about 15 minutes, then cool on a cake rack.
“Note: I don’t use candied peel, salt or an egg and, I use raisens instead of mixed dried fruit, then thrown a handful of dried cranberries in, with some cubes of crystallized ginger, quartered. I cook them for a minute or so longer than the recipe states. I also place the sheets of the prepared buns near to the top of the oven and, towards the end of the bake, will open the oven to check them and perhaps swap the trays about…”

Question: "Why are you in pain?"
Answer: "hip..? arthritis... lower back.. ?spinal degeneration."
essentially a humanist, with buddist leaning and, a pagan inclination, or two...
I want to look up at the stars, a bottle of scotch in one hand, painkillers in the other & a tree behind my back...
when the day comes.
as to my body, when I'm gone... 'they' can do what they want with it. I'll have finished with it.
