I'm going to work on a new art project and would like to know everyone's opinion and thoughts. I know there are famous artists who paint in blood. But I don't exactly remember their names.
And I am sure throughout history that people have painted in blood. So, what are modern techniques and what did the ancient use? Is there a spray?
Mix it with resin. Also know too that it is considered a body fluid thus transporting your art can be a pain. For example too Ebay will not allow the sale of art work done with even a little blood as thus its a body fluid and prohibited for sale. So keep stuff like that in mind. Though I would love to see your work when it is done... pictures... :) Good luck.
Just draw with blood on paper. It seems to last on its own.
I guess a some what relative question would be what material are you attempting to paint the blood onto... Canvas, parchment, paper??
Each one of these is different and absorbs liquids differently.
Second are you using straight blood or are you adding something to thicken it so it is more workable??

I was going to layer it with a few other natural liquids. Like coffee. It will be on paper. I have regular paper or watercolor paper. We'll see what I use. I just don't want it to go over time.
And it won't be for sale.
It should work with coffee on it's own. And just buy some clear plastic sheets to put them in.

Someone suggested clear nail polish. I'm probably going to test that and see how it works. I'm still open to suggestions.
Make a tiny mix of water and flour and mix so it is ink consistent. Then mix blood into it as soon as it hits the mix so it doesn't clot
I think I'm gonna try it and see with all the tips given, if there is more I'll try them, not that I love to play with blood, I am just curious how this will work and come out.
Interesting topic. Where are you going to get the blood? Just curiosity.
