This is not a very easily answered question. No one can speak for someone else. Some of it now for young people with the advent of the internet will recognize a similarity due to anecdotal information and will try it. As for energy, everyone has energy exchanges. They have proven that by Kirlian photography and equipment they have that measures heat signatures. Some take energy that is not spontaneous exactly once they realize they are draining energy. You don't know this at first but if you are isolated a lot and not around people or out of doors then you get tired frequently. I have had so many tests for anemia and I have pale skin on top of that but I don't think the coloring of skin has anything to do with vampirism really. I am not anemic. I am sun sensitive, but whether it has to do with vampirism could be debated. Some that haven't come to terms with this will get diagnoses of things like fibromyalgia or CFS, etc. Many develop immune and nervous system problems due to deprivation because calories, energy units in food are not enough.

When people tell you over and over again they are tired and you are invigorated. You kind of figure it out. Usually you have an ikling that you are different in certain ways from other people. There are far more ways of getting energy for "psi vamps" than for sanguinary vampires being able to find donors. Although most are unconscious of the energy exchanges that are going on anyway....they may or may not get any benefit from it. Most don't believe in these things because they are usually from metaphysical or Eastern thought. I believe it has something to do with certain physical constituents that have a light or certain frequency. Blood drawn from a vein is unoxigenated blood. As for me I don't use the term Psi because I don't think it properly represents how people feed and it is not a type of vampire. It is just differences in feeding styles and there are many ways. I use to draw energy through intimate ways but now that I am older, I don't. I also get it through emotion. I use the term Pranic/Empathic and forgo the others. Energy is everywhere so it's not hard to come by but sanguinary vampires need something more physical. They use to say it was energy from the blood but now most don't believe that. I don't know why the difference or all the many ways people claim and personally to me it is what it is. It just sort of happens. Sanguinary vampires are the minority in the vampire community. There are many that are a combination. Some call them hybrids but that term is also used for someone who claims to be vampire and something else like a therian species, etc.

Some call the realization the "awakening" but I think all that is BS. No one my age would have said that. It is a very modern idea but nowadays they want to label everything. I knew when I was little, around four but I didn't put a name on it exactly but I eventually knew and it evolved over time to putting a name on it but after all it is just a word and one out of one language area so one could use another name with another language. Originally I called it "behind the eyes." I use to call it "god" energy because it goes through the crown chakra and the fingertips. I don't have to be touching someone like many psis demonstrate. I have only told one other person that, now I have told everyone in the forum. I cannot speak for a sanguine because I am not drawn to that type of feeding nor can I break all of this down into anything scientific.

am wondering if you get more or less energy from one person if they are in some kind of state like if the person does not know that you are draining them of energy what would that do but drain them however if they were excited or some how scared then the energy would be more high and you could get more with out them knowing what you were doing right.

I am not exactly sure what kind I am. But I tend to feed on both blood and energy. And I have to be careful, cause in my feeding it weakens the person extremely and they can get very sick.

Is it possible to feed too much on mental energy to the point a person can lose consciousness?

I don't see how. absorbing mental energy would fill you with energy, thereby making you energetic and ultimately hyperactive. though if a person just believes they are feeding off mental energy, when in fact they are actually burning up their own energy, then they could pass out once they have exhausted themselves.

Is it possible to be both a psy and a sang?

yes i do think you can be both its just that most are not. nor would they want to be both . one or the other might get in the way or it might get a little mixed up . one or the other if ether were to feed to much it ends up bad for both the feeding and the feeder . more so if you are sang . but i am not so sure what would or even if one could take on to much good energy .

This should probably be reserved for my mentor but, I'm to scared to ask her.II believe I'm an energy vampire (due to the fact that I get a buzz when I'm walking around huge crowds of people sometimes) but, I'm not to sure how to draw out energy from people without hurting/injurying them. I work with special needs kids, and I would be heart broken if I hurt them. Plus, I need to work on my emotions so I can get a handle on my new found abilities.

I probably need to research all this or find someone who has the same abilities as me. (I refuse to call these "powers" because I don't believe that they really are) but, if someone could please help me with this little problem of mine, I would really, really appreciate it. Oh, where to begin...

I, myself, am not merely a sole 'Sanguine' or 'psy'. To be perfectly technical, there is not only the two, but a third in there, which is so rare to find or see that it's never thought of, even by our own kindred.

Me? I'm what some of my friends call either a "triple-hybrid" or a "tri-bred". Sanguinarian, 'psy', and 'Psi'.
Now, for those who think the latter two are the same, (though I really hate to be rude) think again.

"Psy" or 'psychic' is the term used as the general meaning of what the word implies.
"Psi" or 'Psionic' is another word and meaning, engirely. Psionic energy is the energy given off by the Soul/Spirit of an individual.

I won't get into extremely specific details, at the moment, but I will say that the way I learned of what kind I am... that was not pleasant, in the least. However, becayse of my own Vampyrism, I don't need to eat much, in comparison to others. In fact, I can't, or I'll become sick to my stomach. I also can't hamdle straight water, anymore.
However, when I 'feed', I generally take more energy than most others would, because I require allot more. And even for blood, which I somewhat prefer, I need to drink allor more, with the more time I spend without. Otherwise, I need to sleep like the Dead, to keep from feeling said say. Unfortunately, that kind of sleep rarely ever happens, so I'm left feeling weak all the time, until dusk falls.

Estranged One, Is there anything that supports your conclusion about yourself? What sources led you to declare yourself something so obviously fringe. While this is a fringe site to begin with, it seems you are always pushing boundaries of rational/logical, and irrational/illogical claims.

Certainly you understand that there is little that separates you from all the other role players, with fantastical ideas about themselves.

First of all, though I will say that I understand where you come from in that, I'll also tell you that as you have no real idea of my past, you therefore, also have no idea what I have seen. What you think of as "fringe", in my case, or as "role playing", I can tell you, now, with guarantee, is mothing of the sort.
I came face-to-face with several 'near death experiences', in my years leading to my learning about it, myself. Though it may appear as "role playing", or "BS", the many things I've seen unfold have brought me to understand that the world is nowhere near as 'Black-and-white' as people seem to believe it is.
I've been on the brink of death more times than I can count, and I don't say that lightly, or as a joke. When a person has been on the 'other side' as many times as I have, they begin to understand that the boundaries of reality as too easily bent, broken, or moved around.

I can understand why you or anyone else would think as you do, but it also tells me that you haven't been where I have. I've met others who have also been at this said point, and each one of them has dealt with something that in a way, 'forced' themto awaken into everything they were.

If you were around me, at all, I could easily show you a multitude of things that would (for lack of a better term) 'change your tune'. But it all depends upon how open you allow yourself to be, in both mind and Spirit. I came to where I am, as part of a physical and metaphysical 'journey', that continues, even now. The more I tried to ignoee the things around me, the stronger and more prominent they became, until not even my family could figure out what was happening. Because of everything, most of my family has forsaken me, as being the Devil, and those who haven't have begun to be afraid of me, out of nothing but fear, caused by their own lack of understanding.

i believe that bing psi or sang not a very big deal it means giving into something that most do not believe in . and seeking things that are way out of the norm of things . letting your mind free of thoughts that are norm and go with things that are less like the norm .

I will not say what I am as I know within myself, but I find myself asking often if this site is in fact for vampires or those that beleive why then do people rush to judge those that do call themselves vampiric. I feel that even if science was to finally break it all down and prove the existance of all the "fringe" you would all probably still say it's not possible an d debate it to death or till the other just throws their hands in the air and walks away. How may I ask is that keeping an open mind to the world around you if you deny everything?

There do exist a very select few here who are on/in the "fringe" and have the professionally published study(ies) evidencing their claims to back it up. Those few who do aren't much questioned here because they can back up their claims with hard empirical laboratory evidence.

After all...you don't still find too many debating whether the Earth is flat or whether we landed on the Moon because there are now just too many evidences regarding both. However, when all you have are people making flippant online-only claims, many of them in their online-only, role-playing personae... yes, there absolutely is going to be healthy and necessary skepticism.

I guess it would really depend on your definition of each term "PSI" and "Sanguine". I personally would consider myself both. But I do not and would never drink human blood. Not out of disgust but a personal choice. And as for "PSI" I really much prefer to call myself and Empathic Vampire.

In the ways of the Strigoi Vii, we are considered Sanguins, but we do not consume blood. We focus our energies and drain off of specific people who have higher amounts of energy or those who are experiencing a high emotional state. These people produce massive amounts of energies. We just focus on these people and take the energy that is flowing off of them. Sports games, weddings, funerals, movies, etc are really good for this. As someone stated, we are more Empathetic Vampyres.

Psi vampires, to me, is an umbrella term, covering many schools of thought or practice. Tantric, Energy, Atmospheric are some branches of Psi Vampirism. It covers intangible forms of sustenance. Whereas Sanguine Vampirism covers tangible forms of sustenance. Blood is the Life, they say. On the other hand, so is Energy. Some beings live for the atmosphere of chaos and havoc, like in concerts. Some live for serene environments, like Nature-filled places such as the beach. It is very subjective. Energy is, after all.

I am a bit of both, but I believe in something more than that. The Vampirism of the Spirit. Not being in a group, I carried out the rituals by myself. I do not know if that is possible, but I did it. I felt and fed off the power exuded by the Words. That is my weakness. I may not be a vampire, but more of a vampire enthusiast. I do not know. I certainly embrace the various schools of thought, and Vampirism is definitely more than just labels. It transforms the Spirit within. You will feel it. It has changed my life and I believe it wil change yours too. Again, it is not for everyone, like all Religions or systems of belief. Do what thou wilt is the whole of the law, they say.

You have to understand that using the terms Psi (psy) or sanguine (sanguinary) are totally arbitrary. They come mostly from the modern American vampire community and were coined by particular people and as some do picked up by others and are now over probably the last fifty years common to use. They are not scientific in any way. Not all want to get involved in studies of the vampire. I know I have studied a lot of things over the years but when you start going back and delving into things you find people disagree, those that are supposedly in the know. Also many ideas were handed down orally and they get changed. If you've ever played that game at a party where you pass a phrase or joke down a line of people and the last person recites it you should know how things can be changed or misinterpreted. There is no way to know anything as an absolute when it deals with this topic.

Those in other countries are making up their own lingo for things. South Africa is big on that and in some cases those in Europe and Australia have different ideas as well. I'm not speaking of researches but groups who have banded together and consider themselves vampirics. Americans are more vocal is all. They also created a lot of organizations over time and haven't been as secretive as other places because here, you are possibly labeled mental or a freak. In other countries, it can mean being killed by a mob of religious or superstitious fanatics or ostracized.

When a friend of mine was eight years old he witnessed something traumatic. He is now in his early thirties and grew up in Kenya. His parents helped in that country with the food supply teaching agricultural things to the people. I don't know all the details on that. Anyway he was playing out back I guess you could call it in the bush when he heard screaming. He hid and watched one tribe literally kill every man, woman and child in a whole village. These things do go on in Africa and even in South Africa. They burn people for witchcraft and a whole number of things. You don't openly claim anything there about yourself. Even so these people have websites and a variety of information outlets. Even in this country most use pseudonyms, especially if you live in the Bible belt. Saying one is psi or sanguine is very simplistic because there are so many other names for various feeding styles. These words don't mean types of vampires even though often used that way. Vampires feed on food and outside sources that can be blood or things that are not as physical, types of energy which probably have their own energy signature or harmonic. It's really an open debate and the general public who have the interest generally know these two words or those from RPGs which are insignificant...meaning fiction. There are people who consider all of it mere fantasy. I really could care less but there seems to be a fascination of slicing and dicing all of these words to try and figure out something I can't pinpoint. They are just labels for want of anything more specific to use. It appears to be the nature of people to want to name everything.

I'm still trying to find out what exactly I am feeding off. I hunt mainly by astral projection, but it'd taken a long time for me to actually figure out what naturally thrills me and fills me up. For years I felt like I was just going through the motions of behaving as I thought I should do. Gradually it dawned on me that what I was feeding off was more related to the thrill of the experience and the subtleness of the attacks. I'm infinitely more happy when I've had a good hit, that has raised me to greater levels of consciousness and realisation than I would be perfecting a fixed pattern of behaviour that adheres to someone else's predatory instincts.

I believe that you cannot please everyone when you try to label someone or something. Indeed people can be very subjective and opinionated when it come to placing a name. There for before I answer I just want to say I use my terms very loosely, because these are simply the terms I have always used and was taught to use.
I consider myself a Hybrid Vampyre. I prefer blood over energy, however these times are rather few by comparison of what is ideal. Energy while still effective and obtainable does not sustain -used lightly because I lack a better word at the moment- me as well as I would like. When used in combination I find myself feeling better that usual, or when I have only "fed" on one or the other.

Sanguine by nature, but when I'm in a bind I use Psi. Keeps a blood drinker from starving if they can't access what they need.

not to stray to much but being one or the other do you every feel as tho you are not in control but some out side force is making you or driving you to do said things. I believe that there is a high force of power out side of self . and that this power uses the word or beings that are knowen to us as vampires . I personally don't "feed" either way as I am not a vampire but prefer the sang type as I enjoy biting and fangs. Psi vampires are interesting but I believe vampires in general do both and take energy to be discrete.

My preference is blood it has more of the essence that we are cursed to desire and for the psi it's good for blending and not announcing your around and getting quick info... I still like blood more cuz it's more of a bond and psi is like yoink thanks..

I am a sang. I love the taste of blood and the energy essence that comes from it. I also feel it is a sign of intimacy with someone. To me a man who lets me drink his blood has ultimately become one with me. That is my way of opening myself completely and trusting them completely.

I currently Psy feed off of Mortals. I prefer happy energy if anything, I can also feed off of music but its not substantial energy, but it picks me up slightly. I eat red meats to get blood off of that since I cant have Mortal blood, its forbidden of me to do so until my mate gets to me, and I respect his wishes. But in all the past lives I remember I fed on blood

If I were a 'vampire', I'd be a PSI (Psychic)? rather than a sanguine feeder, as feeding directly from a human would ruin my expensive designer clothes and smear my lipstick. (I'd go for a neat cut or puncture, where the blood can trickle into a wine glass).
By being a psychic vampire, one can feed without really having to touch the unwashed masses.

Isis, I agree.. In one of the articles I wrote about sanguinarian vampyres, I suggest that they are using the blood they ingest as a focal point to focus their energy manipulation on.

Also, anyone who says they drink massive amounts of blood per day.. I hate to call your bluff, but is a liar. It is detrimental to the health of a human being to do this. Blood is not good for you! That is why you take a lancet or some other similar instrument and use a tiny amount. A drop! You use that as a focal point to psionically take the energy. More is explained in my article, but you get the general idea. I totally agree with you there :)

I am a Hybrid, if I don't feed I don't feel well I use to have a donor but that was too difficult to keep up with. I also learned over the years that I am very sensitive to emotions and I have a gift of discernment.

I am also open with my family about my vampirism plus my mother knew I was different and told me not to be afraid of it and to embrace it. Once I did, everything became easier.

It took me many years to be alright with myself and what I am. Plus I do have disabilities and weakness that others do not have. I was diagnosed with a rare movement disorder and sensory issues that the Doctors can't explain. They say I have high functioning Autism, but how is that if I have great communication skills?

I am primarily Psi. I enjoy feeding on the energy of others. At times I am Sang, but rarely and with very select people. Both are very gratifying ways to feed.

I prefer feeding from blood but sadly donors are hard to come by in my city and I have no time to search for a new donor at this point in time.

There are NO original Slavic vampires. They are tales from gypsies passed onto the population where they have lived and that is all over that area. Most of the countries are teaming with them. I don't believe vampires which is one word of many. This name was not used everywhere and it depends on how you define it, the undead, I think not. That's in stories and film. I have seen a number of researchers books or manuscripts that say they have the answer. Well if they don't have the degrees in the languages, I don't listen or someone they work with that does. You simply can't go from everything someone else has written because it is full of opinions. This particular word comes out of that area; vampire. People like to use it but as I stated there are others that mean basically the same thing and if you can't really believe in some of the things they say about them in one place how can you say another place is correct? I have read long studies and I have many books. There is no definitive answers really. Those that have an affinity for blood will drink it in very small amounts. I don't believe when someone tells me they can drink more unless they are apart of the 30 percent of the population that does vomit . I see no purpose in ingesting blood. As for energy, there are continuous exchanges but the vampiric metabolizes it differently and there seems to be a difference depending on where it is coming from. Perhaps that has to do with frequencies, I don't no nor do I care really. Most use a combination of both but a high percentage take sexual energy. If you aren't a vampiric then it's hard to explain but this affects both genders and not just one. It really doesn't matter what others believe because it still is what it is regardless of belief.

Sorry for the typos. I meant the 30 percent that don't vomit when ingesting more than a small amount of blood. Scientists mentioned this in a documentary I saw on Cannibalism. I personally don't believe anyone or anything could live on either. It is a supplement to food. I also don't believe it is a bunch of multi...you know what males either. That would have never been missed. They had men in the temples just like they did women and I would suspect maybe someone got that idea from them. Words can be used sarcastically to criticize the activities of others.

I'm curious, AsphaltTears... If there "are NO Slavic Vampires", how do you explain that it is directly from the Slavs that we have the word, "Vampire"? And, no, the word was not coined by gypsies but, instead, by Slavic scholars living in Ukraine and western Russia.

The first ever usage in history of the term, Upir (that in Bulgaria became Vapir, then a bit later the "m" sound was added), is found written in 1047 CE by a Christian priest...about himself! And he was not and could not have been a gypsy as gypsies were not, as he was, schooled both in religion and languages and worked directly for the Tsar. Then, a few years later, the Oration of St. Gregory was printed that states that before Paganism and, later, Christianity "...The Slavs worshipped Vampires (Upyri)..."

None of these first-ever mentions of Vampires came from gypsies nor referred to gypsies. Instead, their authors were Slavic and referred to themselves, the Slavs.

Completely psi and feed on all three forms of psi energy but I prefer not to feed on emotional energy as it creates weird emotions of my own since I am a strong empathy.

I'm sang and I hardly recognize psi as vampires, but as I am not one, I don't judge them and I don't exclude them.
