Tuesdays nights at the Wave is Doom & Gloom, also know as "Goth Night". It's technically not a gay bar, but it is gay friendly ... don't worry, people don't assume that because you go there you're gay. It's a really laid back place, which includes a pool room, bar, dance floor/stage, DJ's, and an outdoor area to chill and cool off.
To quote someone else: "Don't expect to get a weak drink here, they pack in the booze like no place I know which is what makes them worth the money."
The club is 18 and up, and if you're under 21 you get two big "UNDERAGE" stamps on your arms, unless requested elsewhere. (My sister got them on her cleavage and forehead.)
$3 for 21 and up.
$5 for minors.
The club actually starts getting active around 11PM, and closes at 2AM.
Smoking is allowed indoor, and out.
Not many order food but the menu goes from snacky things such as chicken fingers to Steaks.
On the busier nights there is security on duty which makes everyone feel more safe and have a good time.
Keep in mind that it's only Tuesday's that are Doom & Gloom. Other nights have different themes.
Wednesday:TRILL ... Featuring New Wave Electro, Dance Rock, Hip Hop, Electro Pop, Techno, Ambient, and much unclassifiable amazing dance music and awesome DJs.
Thursday: 80's NIGHT ... this night was voted best club night in Virginia i believe 2 years in a row and is generally the busiest night of the week.
Friday: SWAYZE ... which includes indie, brit electro, and brit pop, with some new wave here and there- also an AMAZING night.
Saturday: This night has been affectionately called GAY NIGHT by me and some of my friends ... it includes a lot of trance, techno, and electro new wave.
