I am a Transilvanan by birth and I have created this group for our pleasure.

This is a place dedicated mostly to the study of the vampire myth as appears in the old times. Having more then 20 pages and 20 active threads in the private forum, Transilvanian Dark Romanticism is more active then many Covens and even Houses.
The most noble portrait of the vampire was perfected during the XIXth century and is based on the Dark Romanticism aesthetics. In literature, the romantic vampire has all the opposed and paradoxical characteristics of the Romantic hero. That kind of character was the projection of a mental image of it`s author(s) in love with the absolute ideals and living in a world of abstractions and reveries.It was, perhaps, the most vivid expression of the paradox of the human being that founds itself lingering between an animal and an angelic form of life. Before the Romanticism, the vampire was merely a zombie attracted back to life by obscure unnatural powers. After Romanticism the vampire either became an action hero, or just a cheap lover, loosing many of attributes and by this falling into derisory.
One of the places that authors choose to place the home of the vampire was Transilvania and this was based on the unique and strange folklore that survived the ages in this region. Transilvania is a surprising land where the beauty of ruined castles, secretive woods and wild splendid mountains still guard their ancient treasures. In this land the old tales of wisdom but also primitive superstitions seem to leave in harmony in the souls of it`s peaceful inhabitants.
The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge are both important for us. Without denying our mortal existence we can be close to the noble and mysterious vampire spirit in our reveries.

The side purposes of this mentorship are:

to keep the vampire myth alive... but dead;
to share wonderful art and literature from the past periods, when the elegance was as important as functionality; goth, steam-punk, victorian, vintage all have their place here;
to study the image of the vampire in the XVIIIth - XIXth century in Europe and America;
to bring into attention of VR members the dream-side and the dark-side of the Romanticism;
to point to the difference between the Dark Romanticism and the modern biased and false image of the word "romantic";
to assist the pupils so they could level up faster then other VR members;
to help the VR members that wish to join the Coven Of The Forbidden Fruit;
to study and inform about the life and deeds of Vlad III Dracula as a historical character and by that to help the Dragon Order Of C.F.F.;
to study the vampire image as it was before it was turned to a mere commercial product.
