I am always inspired by folk who love life. I greatly admire those who look on the bright side, rather than focus on the dark things that befall us humans (and vampires). Someone I have come to admire here on VR is compassionate, kind, and a beautiful soul who walks through the light in this dark, dark place. So, I simply had to interview Imagesinwords. I had to find out what made her shine, if she ever got demonic with a moron, and if she had a naughty side...

I had imagined that Images lived in some heavenly vault but that was not so, her house was pretty ordinary, as homely as yours or mine. I really looked forward to meeting her because I realised then that she was just an ordinary mum with a family. I knocked on her door and waited...

...and waited...I soon heard a clatter and I hoped I hadn't come at the wrong time, just then, the door opened and I noticed that someone was staggering under the hugest pile of books I had ever seen. Ancient, dusty old books scattered everywhere, and beneath them all, was Images peeping over her glasses, grinning and attempting to juggle her books, ordinary life and of course VR.

Instantly, I felt at ease. Who is Imagesinwords, I asked:

"I am a very average person, with an imagination very much like what was displayed in the movie 'Finding Neverland' about James Barry. When I watched that film, I think it was the first time I felt like I wasn't alone in my thoughts. I was no longer strange because I was constantly imagining other things. Although I have only been to two other countries, my mind is well-traveled. Other than that example- I have often described myself as the female version of many John Cusack film characters. The ordinary person with too many thoughts. Embarrassing myself and truly embracing the experience. Overlooked by most people, and picked out by the few like-minds (or correlating Zodiac signs). I am actually a well-liked person offline. I can't even think of any 'enemies' I might have. Vampire Rave and it's handful of members that assume I am someone quite different than the reality... well, that is really exclusive to this place. I chock that up to the medium we're using. Not everyone is good with 'reading people' online ;)

Last but not least: I am a writer. I am filled with stories and have many projects 'in the works'. Unfortunately, I am scatter-brained and it's hard for me to finish many of them. I promise I will, though :)"

I liked that answer. Its not often that folk are as driven to learn as Images was. I wondered where she saw herself in 5 years time. Would she still be an Admin on VR, or was there perhaps some aspiration that would take her onto a different path?

"I hope I am still here and that VR has continued to grow by leaps and bounds. And I am sure in a few years, we'll still hear people (that have only been members for a year) say "Vampire Rave was so different when I first joined." :P

I will probably be in a new field of study, or deeper into something I am currently doing. I'm not looking for a career. I am a stay at home mom and a home schooler- I'm just addicted to learning new things, and I want my child to know far more than the 3 R's (readin', ritin', and rithmetic'). He's learning about ancient Biblical times, Norse Mythology, Astrology and all sorts of anthropological studies. Cultures and humanities- my passions.

Something else I have a serious interest in: Horology- art or science of measuring time. I want to fix watches and clocks. I am a nerd. It's okay... I own it ;) I also like to collect gems and would like to get involved in Gemology. I love stones, their stories, their 'time'. They mean things. Not only to people as jewelry, but I believe there is a science to them... something as to why we have attributed health, fortune, emotional well-being, and other mysteries to specific stones".

I found myself nodding at that. Nerd was uber cool these days.

I also really wanted to know about the early VR scene...I wondered if Images had ever been in Cancer's journal: Message Gems for silly questions ("Hi, I'm Heidi, can you make me an admin? p.s. I think you're good and kind"...perhaps...?), or if she had had any funny moments from the last 5 years that she could share?

"I've never been a message gem :P As for funny moments in my VR history... I can't really think of anything specific. When I think of funny- I think House Eternal's forum, and ThothLestat's mentorship 'Bad Apples'. Those are places I go to laugh and forget about site dramatics. Indeed, there are healthy memberships and people that don't obsess over things that don't matter.

Actually... recently I had a member ask me if I would be his 'mistress'. It's happened a lot here, and I was going to ignore the question- but I was also on webcam. He came to the broadcast and wanted an answer 'live'. I was caught. Revelation came to me: Webcam sessions can be tricky for Admins who pride themselves in being tactful and fair. How could I hide the fact that I felt he was asking me an idiotic question? Over laughs and uncomfortable facial expressions... I got the point across".

That was hilarious. Hilarious and creepy all at the same time. EEEW! See what I mean about being an ordinary person, just like you and me? I next wanted to know what Images did for fun given that she was busy on VR, studying all year, and running a family home all at the same time. What is your ideal way to spend time relaxing I asked:

"Whenever I have spare time, I spend it in the French Quarter. I marvel at the old buildings and imagine them in their heydays. I can see it all as it was 200 and more years ago- I can see the port city as 'new', with immigrants getting off the boats and finding work in the French Market and throughout the Vieux Carre. From Quadroon Balls to Storyville... there's just so much to learn and remember with this colorful city".

I had to agree that it sounded like great fun to explore. We often saw photos taken by Images and it all pointed to a lovely way of life. I wondered though if Images ever got angry with noobs or morons. Have you ever 'down-rated', or rated a 'one' and 'blocked' I queried, giggling. She raised an eyebrow then at me and so I asked her, do you do drama at all?

"I block people that berate me with questions I have already answered a million times. But I will usually remove the blocks after a few days. I currently have no one blocked. I like to keep the lines of communications open to anyone who may have site issues to address.

I can probably count on just a couple fingers how many times I have rated a 1- if I really don't like you, I don't rate you at all".

Well, I had to nod at that. That really was the best way of looking at it all.

Now that you've finished your course of study, what have you been keeping busy with, and does it feel strange to have no textbooks to read, no essays to write, etc. or have you got something else lined up?

"It feels strange, but it feels good. Now I am just diving into little projects I am giving myself vice someone else giving them to me. I will get back to school eventually, I am sure. But I am have a great time right now being able to relax without homework".

What do you think about the new member page feature?

"I think it's probably my favorite site implementation so far. I love to write and share- and it *is* different than your journal:

1. Member Pages are specifically spotlighted pages you share here, not something you write that gets buried over time in your journal that you cannot search for/find easily. They are not 'the dailies'.

2. Member Pages are found in quick links on your profile for future reference by title. That is quite different.

3. And as I saw MooniePie mention in a comment, There are a lot of times where I don't read journals just because I feel weird with reading a journal if I don't speak with the person. You don't show up in their Last 10, you're just browsing the site. That's another big difference.

4. Member Pages give storage space to 3 images for each page, unlike journals.

5. They are also filed via category and can be searched by specific topics of interest.

6. Also, as to why these Pages are different than journals: You can edit them without losing comments :D

To say they are just like journals- well... what about profiles, society pages, forum posts, and everything else? We're all using this place to type something out, something we're thinking, something we want to share... and they are not all 'journals'. If you can't see the differences- I don't think you're paying attention, or care to".

Moving on because I had to leave, I asked my final question...if you had super-hero powers, what would they be?

"This isn't usually considered a 'super' power... but photographic memory would serve me well. I can imagine there's nothing I couldn't do if I had perfect recall. People would be so impressed... that would go a long way. Brain power trumps all. At least, if you're dealing with people who have common sense. If not, my memory in regards to hand to hand combat would have to suffice ;)"

Of course, nothing I could say now would top that last answer. I had met a wonderfully interesting person who did know how to be naughty but chose to be nice instead.

Thank you Images.

I'll never get how you were so spot on of how it would have looked in my home- with books all over the place ;)

This was a lot of fun- as all you've interviewed can attest. I'd like to also add a #6 to why these Pages are different than journals: You can edit them without losing comments :D

I'd like to add that I am not comparing myself to the genius of James Barry- I'm just that starry-eyed, is all I mean. My head is in the clouds... a *lot*. Yet somehow I am grounded. Probably why I feel so dizzy at times o_O

One of my most favorite things to do is daydream- and I am doing it all day long when people wouldn't even guess it. I'm imagining everything as I see it, differently. And there's always a soundtrack playing. It's fun being me, if I do say so myself!

This lady is the one I am very grateful for coming into my life. Her whole family are so caring, you can feel and see the love they have for each other. She is who I turn to when I need a ear, a shoulder, help with the site or life.

I can not give her enough praise.
