Obey the god of that religion or suffer eternal damnation. The Satanic bible offer no such threatening text. in fact it offers more liberation, personal mobility, however adhering to personal responsibility. In other words self deification. Acting as your own god/dess in all things. To practise a form of self indulgence while being respectful, responsible, and not having the fear, you'll end up in some deep pit, burning and writhing in pain for eternity.
Now there are some stereotypes that must be addressed:
Satan is NOT the Devil. They're two separate and distinct characters.
Many Satanists are theistic, believing in an actual Satan. Some are deistic seeing Satan as a character ideal.
Satanists are not the violent killers that some convicted murderers themselves make out. Satanists will only kill in self defence unlike their christian counterparts.
Many critics of the Satanic Bible have never even read the Satanic Bible, nor have any credible evidence about Anton LaVey, who wrote it.
It is true.The satanic bible of LaVey is actually a Kind of life Mantra,rather than a set of rules and laws.I have a copy of it,albeit digital and I read it every day and try to analyze it from a philosophical and scientific viewpoint.LaVey writes about being at one with yourself and loving yourself,in the sense of respecting your own power,accomplishments and ideas.
There is very little(if any) Dogma involved in LaVey`s writings.
While many People Claim to do evil in the Name of Samael,they are actually using this to justify their own twisted ideas.
It is refreshing to hear that someone has a cold perspective on this issue
