"One must have Chaos in one's self in order to give birth to a dancing star." --Nietzsche
Darkest Greetings!
I am a 39 year-old male, married (my wife is not into the Vampire lifestyle or scene).
I have a BA in History and Philosophy with a minor in Creative Writing (USM), an MAR in Religion and Literature (Yale Divinity), and an MFA in Creative Writing (Vermont College of Fine Arts). I spent a few years in-between those degrees studying at Boston Theological School, Andover-Newton Theological Seminary, and Bangor Theological Seminary, eventually walking out of a ThD program so that I could refocus my life on Writing and Gothic Literature. I am currently in a PhD program at IUP in Literature, doing my dissertation on Dark Romanticism.
I am currently a professor in the Boston area where I teach classes in Literature and Creative Writing.
My main interests are Gothic Music, Literature, and Culture. (Do I even have to mention how into all things Vampire Literature, Movies, and Society I am?) I write both Fiction and NonFiction, have a few pieces published, and am working on more writing for publication.
My other interests include: Museums, the Symphony, Guitar and Mandolin, painting (water colors), old Graveyards, Gargoyles, Romantic Literature and Culture.
As for my Vampire life, I was awakened at age 21. I was a member of TOV for 2 years, then met my Vampire teacher and studied with him for another 2 years. I traveled in Magickal groups and societies, trying to find a way to combine my interests in Vampires, Magick, and Goddess worship, and somehow that led me into going to College later in life, and making a run at Religious Studies as an aspiring Intellectual. It was my Love for Gothic Literature and Music that was my constant lifeline during that time as a bit of an outcast "spooky" guy who hung out with VERY Western, Traditional, Religious people. I think the works of Michelle Belanger and Michael Vargos helped me to clarify my won path and stay strong in creating a practice that I could live with and accept myself within.
My Vampirism tends to be Psychic Vampirism, but with strong Elemental Vampire tendencies. I have respect and interest in all Vampire lifestyles so feel free to say helllo no matter what path you are walking.
If you ever want to hang out, meet up, talk, engage, and are in the Boston-Salem area, feel free to write me. Always feel free to contact me if you want to talk lifestyle or music or literature.
