Growing up in an multiracial family, my youth was influenced by Asian culture. As I got older, I explored the part of me that was of Romanian decent. I had known that my ancestors were from Transylvannia. It turns out that the Vlad the Impaler's second wife,, Countess Ilona Szilagy, a relative of Matthias Corvinus, bore two sons, one of whom is my distant relative (we believe he was also named Vlad.) Of course, this is through family stories, so it could all be bullshit. However, it's quite fascinating to think that I may share a chromosome or two with Vlad the Impaler....
