I’m diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia and have been on medications for about 5 years now. I’ve been hospitalized a couple times as well for being a “little” out of control. Insanity is my best friend and ironically my worst enemy. I wouldn’t trade the unique perceptions I have for anything in the world. Unfortunately it makes mundane activities complicated to say the least. I’m not exactly “normal” in that my priorities seem “freakish”. I’m dense with things like sex and unless you’re very blunt I’ll just dismiss you as being typically odd. Most of the things that people value so dearly couldn’t begin to bring me the peace of mind I desire and is seemingly intangible.

I’ve been very successful with my “unique” perceptions and am able to maintain control through rigorous discipline. I had to separate myself from people to put everything in perspective and embrace my gift rather than fall eternally into the depths of my insanity. I’ve had a very troubled past but fortunately am able to look to the future. I’m not one to hold a grudge but also make sure not to mistake my kindness for weakness. It’s extremely possible to be a humanitarian while being cold and detached. I’m one of those guys that can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

A nameless, faceless, typical-average Joe casually puts the rest of his scotch down. There’s nothing spectacular about this bar. There’s no luster, it’s comfortable, and dimly lit. Joe raises his hand and says “I’ll take another scotch on the rocks here”.

Simultaneously, as if by some glitch in the matrix, a mean wearing nothing but red walks in and sits down next to the poor soul. The man in red orders Joe another drink with a mere gesture and then points down at his own space at the bar. The man in red then begins to speak:

“I had a dream last night. I dreamed that you were in this organization and that we fully appreciated your talents”. Joe sat there stunned but remained silent. “I was wondering if you’ve ever read this book before.” The strange man passed Joe the book and the man fingered throughout its pages noticing “notes” that had been taken.

Joe being average and weak was all too quick to sign the page he felt was most appropriate. The notes on one particular page made sense to him whereas the rest was mysterious and purposely so. The man in red was no fool. The only fool this day would be Joe. Joe smiled and said “wow, this is great! I feel so appreciated.”

“Wait until you fly”, said the man in red. Joe’s eyes lit up like a child’s as he greedily and selfishly tried to analyze the possibilities with absolutely zero experience, wisdom, or knowledge. The man in red smiled and contorted “not so fast, pain for pleasure.” Joe of course was devastated being the poor simple mind that he was and began to put as a sound drew nearer and nearer.

I happened to skate past the barroom door which was carelessly and illegally left open at the most coincidental time. As I slowly turned my head and glanced in I instantly realized what was taking place as usual and came to a stop. The man in red saluted me but nothing shocks or surprises me these days and I blew it off as one of the million fucked up circumstances. He turned to Joe and said “See that guy? That can never be you. Joe, your soul and freewill is now mine. You’re destined to slavery, servitude, and bondage. Your weakness, in this case greed, condemned you to hell in this life and forever more. I tried to get that skater over there to sign when he was in his early 20’s but he flat out refused and saw the signing as releasing the right to his soul.” I was conveniently out of earshot but my unique perceptions pick up something of notice. Joe sneered at me.

Not surprisingly, I flipped the two of them off and laughed. I dug deep into my skate arsenal of 1 trick and attempted an ollie. I of course was unsuccessful from the man in red’s negative influence and seemed to magically be knocked to the ground. I dusted myself off, flipped them both off again, and attempted the trick again. This seemingly repeated itself for an eternity but 10 minutes in the grand scheme of things is nothing. Finally, with sheer will, determination, and perseverance I landed a perfect knee-high ollie.

The man in red pointed to me and said “see Joe, you’re dime a dozen. We value guys who fight for what they believe in”. Joe again sneered at me. I couldn’t help but flash my custom made shit-eating grin. “Joe, why would you get any sort of reward for perpetuating the weakness of the world? Does that seem logical?” Feeling a victory, I kicked my board a few feet from me, ran to catch up with it and hopped on and rode away.

Life is like Skateboarding. It’s a balancing act of pain and achievement. Your successes are often times only felt within and can’t be measured from others.

I’ve walked many paths in life. Every path ultimately leads with the same conclusion. Perpetuating evil/selfishness lacks a challenge, is aimless, and works towards absolutely nothing.

I’m not perfect and get beat up with life as much as the next guy/girl. I’ve seen some very strange with life as I’m sure everyone has. The difference is that I’m going to work diligently to correct the mistakes of the past. Decadence and greed have tainted the world to the point of humanity itself appearing polluted. I for one, can’t believe that.

If you keep your eyes peeled and focus on perception you’ll notice a pattern of the same reoccurring themes used to suppress people. I don’t have all the answers and not sure “what” the source of its power is; however I do know that the solution is working together and not falling for the dirty old trick of “divide and conquer”.

The most important point I’d like to emphasize is that anything is possible but may not appear so depending on your pessimism/optimism. Hang in there. It’s a common belief that “good” always triumphs over evil. The uncommon truth is that nothing is “evil” when dealing with “evil”. Use your imagination and have fun with it.

Tolerance

I’ve had a pretty interesting life for being such a loner and in seclusion. The most important bit of wisdom I could offer would be that we’re all in this together and that our fate is in our hands. Humanity needs to realize that their fate is in their hands and need to quit looking to the heavens like spoiled brats. People need to take responsibility.

I love my country and hate its leadership. Our citizens are disillusioned into believing we’re superior for the wrong reasons. I personally don’t feel like a bad ass for beating up on 3rd world nations. The United States demands respect but works towards alienating itself. I’m very upset that I can’t see the world for fear of being picked off from poor leadership decisions.

The United States has the potential to become the greatest empire to ever exist or the laughing stock of history. We have near infinite resources and money and should be philanthropists but prefer to bully our way around the world due to the leadership’s insecurities and “little dick” complex. We’ve only existed for ~225 years and already I see us deteriorating to the point of civil war and confusion. If the United States wants the respect we seek then we have to set the best example in the world or continue living as hypocrites.

We’re supposed to be the land of the free and equality but nothing could be further from the truth. Our streets are filled with as many divisions, subcultures, boundaries, borders, and divisions as humanly possible. The United States is like a country club for the rich. Anyone looking to join the club is going to be made fun of, scrutinized, and discriminated against.

Americans need to ask themselves what they want. We have a real opportunity to be the greatest empire to have ever existed through means of charity and mercy. We have fought just wars and I’d like to remind you of our sacrifices in WWI and WWII. Our current path unfortunately is an idiotic series of repeating history’s mistakes due to greed, corruption, selfishness, ignorance, and an inferiority complex. We’re not as tough as we’d like to believe. Notice how we avoid anywhere that doesn’t allow our technologies to do the work. The desert is a fantastic place for our air superiority and we leave countries with poor terrain alone.

Don’t mistake me for a hippie or soft. I was disqualified from Army recruitment after 9-11. The biggest point I’d like to make is that I WANT to be the greatest empire to ever grace the earth by setting a beautiful example for humanity. We have every opportunity being the richest nation in the world but set a laughable example spending billions and billions waging war while our country crumbles.

I love my outlook on life although it’s often times too much for people to come to terms with. Everyone needs to lighten up. :P

Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand it produces the virtue of versatility and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness. The sign is linked with Mercury, the planet of childhood and youth, and its subjects tend to have the graces and faults of the young. When they are good, they are very attractive; when they are bad they are more the worse for being the charmers they are. Like children they are lively, and happy, if circumstances are right for them, or egocentric, imaginative and restless. They take up new activities enthusiastically but lack application, constantly needing new interests, flitting from project to project as apparently purposelessly as a butterfly dancing from flower to flower. To them life is a game which must always be full of fresh moves and continuous entertainment, free of labor and routine. Changing horses in the middle of the stream is another small quirk in the Gemini personality which makes decision making, and sticking to a decision, particularly hard for them.

Since they lack the quality of conscientiousness, they are apt to fight a losing battle in any attempts they make to be moral (in the widest sense of the word). Their good qualities are attractive and come easily to them. They are affectionate, courteous, kind, generous, and thoughtful towards the poor and suffering - provided none of the activities resulting from expressing these traits interferes too greatly with their own lives and comforts. They quickly learn to use their outward attractiveness to gain their own ends, and when striving for these they will use any weapon in their armory - unscrupulous lying, and cunning evasiveness; escaping blame by contriving to put it on other people, wrapped up in all the charm they can turn on. In their better moments they may strive to be honest and straightforward, but self-interest is almost always the victor. If things go against them, they sulk like children.

Also like children, they demand attention, admiration, and the spending on them of time, energy and money, throwing tantrums if they don't get what they want. They reflect every change in their surroundings, like chameleons, and can become pessimistic, sullen, peevish and materialistically self-centered if circumstances force them to struggle in any way. If the conditions of life become really adverse, their strength of will may desert them entirely. They can become uncertain of themselves, either withdrawn, or nervously excitable worriers, sullenly discontented, hard and irritable, with "Self" looming ever larger in their struggles. On the other hand their versatility can make them very adaptable, adjusting themselves to control the world around them by means of their inherent ingenuity and cleverness.

Most Gemini have a keen, intuitive, sometimes brilliant intelligence and they love cerebral challenges. But their concentration, though intense for a while, does not last. Their mental agility and energy give them a voracious appetite for knowledge from youth onward, though they dislike the labor of learning. They easily grasp almost everything requiring intelligence and mental dexterity, and are often able to marry manual skills to their qualities of mind. Their intellect is strongly analytical and sometimes gives them so great an ability to see both sides of a question that they vacillate and find it hard to make decisions. Their is a side to Geminians which can become deeply involved emotionally, and another, hostile to sentimentality, which stands back from a romantic situation, laughing at it and the protagonists in it, including themselves while analyzing it intellectually. Gemini subjects take nothing seriously. So, in love, in spite of their temporary depth of feeling, for the intensity of involvement lasts only while it is new, they are superficial, light-hearted, cool, flirtatious and unimaginative in the understanding of the pain they may give others. They like intrigue, the excitement of the chase, but once they have caught the prey, they lose interest and look around for the next creature to pursue. In less serious situations they make witty, entertaining companions, good acquaintances rather than friends. Even at their worst they are never dull - there is usually playfulness below the surface, and they can be brilliant conversationalists - but they can also be quarrelsome, prattlers, boasters, liars and cheats.

Geminians can be successful in many walks of life though their general characteristics tend to make them unreliable. They are often skilled manipulators of language, in speech and writing, and may be: debaters, diplomats (though in politics they are more interested in theory than practice), orators, preachers (brilliant rather than profound), teachers, authors, poets, journalists, or lawyers. In business any work which combines quick-wittedness with a change of surroundings suits them; working as a traveling salesperson, brokerage work, or dealing with the public in any capacity is right up their alley. Because they are dispassionate, logical, rational and analytical they make good scientists, especially in the fields of medicine and astronomy.
