Quote: I live in darkness despite the burning ember inside me.
I am a true soul. I am the person who you want to have your back. I have many acquaintances, but very few other-half-of-my-soul friends. I guess the reason for that is that I keep my true self camouflaged except to those I really know I can trust, but, once I make a true friend, I keep them forever.
I love being outdoors. The smell of fresh cut grass and fresh rain on dirt roads are a welcome scent to me. Give me a tin roof with a dark night and a rainstorm to pound on it any night. I love the country and have never liked staying any long time in a major urban area. (I guess that's a remnant of the old ways.) I have a very competitive nature and I love riding my horses- trying to get lost in the wilderness.
I have aspirations to write a novel someday (I have the beginning & ramblings of it in my journal) and love researching the origins of vampire "mythology"… In the bible it says He created THEM, way before God decided Adam needed a helpmate. I have tried to read the Torah and Koran to find Lillith's origins, and have found several references in history to special ancient medallions to ward off the succubus, etc. I am also intrigued by primeval Egyptian rituals and beliefs. Any information you could provide on these topics would be greatly appreciated.
I find horror/vampire novels and books a welcome respite from the daily routine. I own over one hundred. I'm in the process of trying to write a novel, but I just can't seem to work it all out in my head yet. I'm not in any hurry to get it done, so I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and play it all out in my head every night when I lay my head on my pillow. Maybe that's the reason it takes me about two hours to fall asleep after I go to bed every night. Who knows? That's one thing I don't like about myself - the inability to fall right to sleep. Other than that, I'm comfortable with who I am.
I love King, Koontz, Rice, Orwell, and anything having to do with vampires! Here are a few of the vampire books I've read:
One of the sweetest places I've been is to a bar on the outskirts of New Orleans called The Angel. I found it quite by accident one night and would like to go back someday. The atmosphere was most excellent. I highly recommend you go there if you get the chance, although I can't tell you how to get there since I'd been partaking of the drink a lot that night! No surprise that all I can remember is that it's across from an old cemetery!
These are some of my favorite movies:
Fun Fact about me: I was impaled by nails in my forehead as a child and lived.
Live life like you were dying... dance like there is no one watching... and love like it's your last. - Anon.
