I just love Society....it's delicious.
Greetings, lonely traveller and welcome to a small portion of my brain.....
...............I wish you luck on this journey................
Yes, my actual name is Moth! Not many people are prepared to believe that on meeting me, but it is true. My late mother loved moths, and so on the morning I was born she blessed me with this name. Much to the disbelief of the midwives, who wanted her to call me something a little less obscure.
My loves.....moths, crows, cats, the cold, the dark, urbexing, melancholia, lime marmalade, black eyeliner, snow, velvet clothing, pvc, coin bras, big swishy skirts, stripey socks, black moors, the dark arts, emerald green and the red stuff.
My hates....ignorance, intolerance, peanut butter, bad manners, bad grammar - particularly in the age of Spell Check, rudeness, liars and clowns.
I come from the country of Dragons, where my mother tongue is one of the oldest spoken in Europe. This land has a great and rich heritage that speaks of Giants, Wraiths, Black Knights, Melancholic Minstrels, Spectres, Crow Kings, The Fae and the Great Wizard Merlin himself, stories that have dazzled and entertained me from a young age. They are too numerous to mention here, but I have one story as a journal entry if you're interested!
In my spare time, I'm a costumer, gothic bellydancer, weed grower, hedgewitch, daughter of Lilith and scourge of my neighbourhood, apparently.
I am also a keen urbexer, risking my life to stalk around rotten and crumbling buildings for a rare photo opportunity that a lot of modern architecture just doesn't afford.
I have been lucky enough to do the London 5, and also Denbigh Asylum, which was absolutely amazing and saddening to me, all in one bundle of emotion.
My next trip is being planned at the moment - hopefully to visit a decommissioned Victorian chemicals factory and also another Asylum at Deva!
I share my life and home with 6 felines, who deem it necessary to interfere with every facet of my being, especially sleeping on freshly laundered clothes - my white one (Gwen) seems to be drawn to black clothing - and hiding under the bed when it is time to take a visit to the vet! I would not change them for the world, and for the most part, prefer their company to a lot of humans'.
People in my town are not really used to seeing anyone who is less than 'normal', normal meaning fake tan, fake hair, fake nails and a stinking attitude when it comes to accepting anyone that falls outside that bracket.
Still, I'd rather take the abuse than deny myself who I am, it's taken a long time and a lot of hideousness to get to this point, but I am proud to be who I am, regardless of what others say or do to me.
With so much hatred that I deal with everyday, please be kindly advised that I do not tolerate ANY online.
We should be proud of a forum where we can all come together and be a community, supporting each other.
Please remember Sophie Lancaster, 24th August 2007.
May the gods bless you and guide you Sophie.

....................................................................................................
I've probably watched far too many movies for my own good, I love Hammer Horror, but anything that has a glimpse of corsetry always gets my vote - I do have a rather unhealthy obsession with Victoriana. And a Ray Harryhausen will have me enthralled for an hour or two!
Some favourites amongst many, many others:
Memoirs of a Geisha
Alice in Wonderland
V for Vendetta
Edward Scissorhands
Predator
The Alien movies
Quills
The Piano
Dracula
Interview with the Vampire
Lost Boys
Van Helsing
The 300
Elizabeth
NBX
Corpse Bride
Sweeney Todd
From Hell
The Wolfman
Silence of The Lambs - remember, Hannibal ate 'Free-Range rude', Dr Lecter is a man after my own heart!
My music taste changes almost on a daily basis as to what I want to listen to, but at the moment I'm stuck on:
NIN
The Mission
Sisters of Mercy
Siouxsie Sioux and the Banshees
Florence and the Machine
Susannah and the Magical Orchestra
The Cure
Queens of the Stone Age
Korn
Slipknot - RIP Paul.
Perfect Circle
The Cult
Disturbed
My Vitriol
Nina Simone
Bat For Lashes
Beats Antique
The Smiths
The Damned
.....and a whole host of other melancholic goodies, although I think you'd be hard pushed to find anything better than what the 80's had to offer...they were my lullabies.
I love to read, at the moment I'm reading The Vampire Lestat for the 3rd time this year. I love the Anne Rice novels, Harry Potter - yes I know what you're thinking but they are a great bit of escapism and we should all be grateful for what J K Rowling has done for a generation, The Red Tent, and all the classics by Stoker, Shelley, Wilde, Byron, Poe, Burton...
I'm currently writing a novel - I'm about half way through - but hopefully at some point I will get the guts to send it off...
I am honoured to be a part of....
and also...
My Hand...My Heart...My Soul
One of my most favourite poems:
My true-love hath my heart and I have his,
By just exchange one for the other given;
I hold his dear and mine he cannot miss;
There never was a better bargain driven.
My true-love hath my heart and I have his,
His heart in me keeps him and me in one;
My heart in him his thoughts and senses guides;
He loves my heart for once it was his own,
I cherish his because in me it bides.
My true-love hath my heart and I have his.
Philip Sydney 1554 - 1586

~~~~ HOW I RATE ~~~~
I give 10s to everyone that has taken the time to read through my profile and rate me - out of courtesy.
How you wish to rate me, is your business, and I would not presume to interfere or influence with what you do.
However, I think you should perhaps bear in mind that in such a world where diversity is not appreciated but ridiculed, shunned and in some cases killed, a forum such as this where we all can come together, we should be encouraging acceptance and differing opinions....
.......competition over who gets what in a ratings war is perhaps perpetuating a hierarchy where people think they are better/worse than everyone else....I have enough of that in my everyday life.
My profile page does not have all the wonderful whistles and bells that a lot of my fellow VR-ers display, but it is truthful and it is me and I like the colour anyhow.
