Quote: "No! No different. Different only in your mind. You must unlearn what you have learned." - Master Yoda
As is obvious from my quote, I am a big Star Wars fan. I'm a fan of a lot of things, just like everybody else. I love music, art, good books, and writing.
I've been writing since I was 12 years old, when I started keeping a journal. There have been times when my journal entries were few and very far between, but I have never abandoned it. So, I now have a collection of journal books, a lot of them well over 200 pages in length. Most of them are hand written, but a couple of them are type written. They are the most precious tangible items that I own, as they contain my life's story, said in ways that I could never hope to duplicate.
As for loving good books, I am an unwavering fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's works, all of them, and I devour everything he has written and which I can get my hands on. My absolute favorite book that I've ever read is Tolkien's Silmarillion, published posthumously. I have read it more times than I can remember and love it so much that I have even written poetry based on my favorite story in the book. But fantasy fiction is not the only literary passion that I have. I also enjoy esoteric writings by authors such as Michelle Bellenger, Father Sebastian, Lawrence Gardner, Nicholas DeVere and Tracy Twyman.
I can be an insatiably curious person and have been known to spend days and even weeks at a time researching one topic until I feel that I have exhausted the extent of research that I can do on said topic. For this reason, I have a never-ending love of the internet and see it as an invaluable tool for gaining self-knowledge and education. I'd be lost without my computer and it's access to the internet! It's one of those things that you can survive without, but once you have it, you wonder how you ever got along without it in the first place! At least, that's how I feel about it.
No, the woman in the picture above is not me. It is merely an illustration. I love to paint, mostly landscapes and art based upon certain fantasy fiction. I love to draw, mostly the same kinds of things that I like to paint, but also I love drawing women. I love drawing them sleeping, moving or set in certain poses that are filled with feminine grace and beauty that simply cannot be found anywhere else. The image below is a prime example of what I see when I see women through artistic eyes.
(The above artwork is credited to Jonathon Earl Bowser.)
I think women are the most beautiful creatures on earth and they seem to glow to my "artistic eyes" at certain times until I am very nearly compelled to draw them and to capture that moment forever. This happens to me all the time when I'm watching my partner simply go through her daily life. Maybe it's because, even after 8 years together, I am still madly and desperately in-love with her. She routinely glows to my eyes, even while doing the simplest things. She is so beautiful, but she doesn't know it, even though I tell her often.
I have drawn her in my mind a thousand times, but have only put pencil to paper to actually draw her once, when we first got together, as she slept on the couch. She looked so beautiful and peaceful and happy and she just...glowed to me, so I had to draw her. I guess you might have to be an artist to understand. But maybe not. I don't know. Maybe having been in-love before would be enough to make you understand. But I could talk about her forever, so I had better move on to another subject now before I make you, my dear reader, gag. LoL.
I have a passion for studying heraldry and genealogy which has fascinated me for as far back as I can remember. Maybe this is because I know so little about my mother's side of the family or because I was separated from my father's side of the family when my parents divorced. No matter the reason, I have had a passion for the study of family lines and history which has lasted me a lifetime. The study of heraldry and genealogy has enriched me greatly and that is something that I have tried to pass down to my son.
What are some of the things I love? I love cats and think that the combination of soft fur and a roaring purr is one of the best things in the world.
I love rain and wind, which isn't surprising seeing as how I'm an elemental. These kinds of storms actually empower me and give me something to feed from that is not sentient, which can be good sometimes. I can't dance to save my life, but I do have rhythm and an abiding love of good music of most kinds.
I'd rather read a good book than go to any kind of party and, as I said about the internet above, I love to educate myself on whatever happens to pique my interest. This has amassed me quite a good collection of books, most of them dealing with the realm of the esoteric and supernatural. I have the Psychic Vampire Codex, The Psychic Energy Codex and Psychic Dreamwalking by Michelle Belanger, The Sanguinomicon by Father Sebastian, Vampires: The Occult Truth by Konstantinos, The Dragon Legacy by Nicholas DeVere (I mean to get the sequel to this book, The Dragon Cede, very soon). I also have Realm of the Ring Lords, Bloodline of the Holy Grail and Genesis of the Grail Kings all by Laurence Gardner. These are just the most well read of the books in my ever-expanding library. There are others.
I am empathic, strongly so, and I have been all of my life. It runs in my family.
I am vampyr/Strigoica. Though most would call me a vampire or psychic vampire, I prefer the more accurate and historical term of Strigoi.
I have been awakened for many years now and have recently become active in the vampire community again after a long sabbatical. I have not been entirely idol during my absence as I have spent the last few years researching the vampire community, it's culture and supposed origins (there are as many theories on these things as there are differences in the people that make up this community). I have studied, explored and researched all manner of material about the vampire culture in history, mainstream culture, mythology and theology. I now see it in my own life for what it is: an inalienable part of who I am and of what my family lineage contains. I am not the first vampire in my family and I am certainly not the last either.
