I was the second archangel that God created, and was then raised by my older brother Michael in Heaven. I was at one time the favorite of God's angels, and my name translates to "The Light Bearer" or "The Morning Star." I once had a strong relationship with God and was fiercely loyal and devoted to him. When God created mankind and commanded that his angels honor humans by bowing to them and loving them even more than God himself, I refused to do so. Being full of pride, I refused to bow to a creature that I considered lesser than myself. Eventually my arrogance was out of control, to the point that I had even attempted to wage war against God. I had then approached my brother, the archangel Michael, hoping my elder sibling would stand by my side during the rebellion. After Michael rejected my request, the elder brother cast me out of Heaven.
Once on Earth I entered the Garden of Eden sliping past the protection of Gadreel, God's most trusted angel, and corrupted the minds of Adam and Eve. These events caused the Earth to be cursed with evil. This forced God to create Hell and had Michael cast me into it. Later, Hell would become the painful resting place of all those I had corrupted. Furthermore within Hell I managed to corrupt the soul of the human woman, Lilith. Additionally I manipulated Abel, the second son of Adam and Eve to listen to me rather than God, in fear for his brother becoming a demon, his brother Cain made a deal with me for Abel to asend to Heaven while Cain goes to Hell, but I made it so it would only work if Cain was the one who killed him, though this I made Cain into a powerful demon who personally trained the Knights of Hell, a hand picked few chossen by me including Abaddon. After these unpardonable insults towards God, I was further punished by being sealed in an impregnable cage within Hell itself. Once in Hell, I became associated with, and was often referred to by the name "Satan." The word "Satan" literally means 'The Adversary' or 'The Accuser'. Despite being sealed away, he was still considered the ruler of Hell and the lord of all demons.
The cage that I was imprisoned in was designed so that he could never leave or escape it on his own, and it was then further locked with 600 powerful seals. Any 66 of those 600 seals would have to be broken by an outside being in order to free Lucifer. The seals served to bind my power and to keep him from escaping his new prison in Hell. Of the 66 seals required to free Lucifer, only 2 of them are required in a specific order. The first seal is quoted by Alastair as, "And it is written, that the first seal shall be broken when a righteous man sheds blood in Hell. As he breaks, so shall it break." The final seal is quoted by Ruby as "And it is written, that the first demon shall be the last seal." Aside from those two seals, any other 64 of the remaining 600 seals will suffice.
