Only 2 things are infinite; the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not too sure about the former.
Greetings to all who may come across this page. I suppose a bit of introductory material is required, so that at least some of the madness which so oft is present in what I say can be understood.
IMPORTANT:
An event has occurred recently that, for lack of a better term, has killed off my motivation to do anything at all. While such an event will never be even partially explained via the internet... All you really need to know is that I'm going to be on considerably less than I am as it is. And with that, back to the regular profile information.
First things first; if you are just some ignorant twit looking for someone to talk to about something totally pointless, move on. I have no need to waste my time or energy, and thus will not do so.
However, if you have something intelligent to say, then by all means do so. No matter what I openly display as to my interests, I usually have no problem discussing matters which sharply contrast what I like/dislike.
Let it be said now that I quite literally am a man of science. Things which have no evidence or supportive information are total rubbish to me, and will be treated as such. The realm of vampires and other so-called 'mythical' or 'super natural' beings and related paraphernalia intrigue me, as there really is no way to prove their existence aside from old texts and whatnot... and who knows if they still exist today, hidden from what our technology can show us? That is the true excitement of it all...
Time for a few more specific details;
My name is Kevin. I am currently 17 years of age, but I've heard more than once that I look and act older than I am... I suppose that's merely an individual's own interpretation.
I am still currently enrolled in school, going into my junior year starting the 20th of August. I'm not too excited about returning, but not a whole lot I can do about that. While I'm on this particular topic, might as well post my schedule;
-AP Statistics
-AP Physics C
-French I
-CAD Engineering II
-Crime/Punishment
-Intermediate Guitar
-American Government
There. Chances are I'll have a few hours a day for VR and such, so if I'm not very active during the week... now you know.
Actually, it may be even less than that. Between the advanced math classes, the papers for C/P, various odds and ends for Govt., and practicing french and guitar, I'll be left with VERY little time to do much else. I will make an effort to get on here whenever possible, but the weekend is really my best bet for taking care of online matters.
Interests:
A very broad overlay of my interests would be; sciences and mathematics, computer and electrical work, puzzles and patterns, music of all kinds(except rap), cats, legos, 'brainteasers' and related paraphernalia, gaming, and playing my guitar.
More specific;
I am interested in all fields of science to one degree or another, but my preferred fields are within the technical aspects of things; why the work, HOW they work, etc. I like just about anything and everything to do with math, and frequently have to stop myself from placing non-existent math labels on everything.
Computers and electronics in general intrigue me. From a simple Gameboy to the laptop that I'm typing on, I wonder how it works; this goes inline with my scientific curiosity. If I don't know how it works, then I will find out, no matter what it takes. The same applies to 'classified' or 'hidden' information. Enough determination and stubbornness allow for a lot to be uncovered.
Puzzles and patterns, my favorite past-time. Whether it be in the form of an online flash game or a real-life 1000 piece puzzle, I love them. Puzzles and patterns go hand in hand with another, and are very rarely encountered separate from one another. My current addiction to this interest is 'Rush Hour: Ultimate Collector's Edition". I'm on puzzle 128 of 155, and reached it in 2 nights. It really is an addiction.
Music is a less prominent interest, but one all the same. I prefer metal, rock, or trance, but I do listen to the occasional country song as well. I'll listen to just about anything though, so long as it isn't that utter trash known as 'rap'. Put a 'c' in front of it and that's what it truly is, if you catch my drift. 'Hip hop' and 'pop' aren't much different from it either, and so I class all of the rubbish as the same. A tad unfair, true, by then again it's only human, now isn't it?
Felines were revered as gods by the Egyptians. While I don't know the exact specifics of this, as I've never really been into history, it isn't hard to miss why. Carrying a natural grace and elegance about themselves, cats have little, if any, need for humans. Supplied with food, water, and a clean litter box, a cat can live entirely without a human for assistance of any sort. MAYBE the occasional petting session, but other than that, a feline doesn't really need a human. Not to mention that they have a natural allure that causes just about anyone around them to drop their intelligence level to that of a child, no matter what their stature or age. I've witnessed it far too many times to think otherwise, as well.
While technically this could be classed under 'puzzles', I feel that Legos need their own section. While I'm sure many of you think Legos alongside child's toys and whatnot, these simple 'toys' are far more complex than what meets the eye. And I'm not talking about that overpriced 'brainstorm' set either; I'm talking about the simple brick and plate pieces, that when combined together, can make everything from a house to an airplane to just about everything in between. And here's something else; just 6 2x4 lego bricks can be combined in over 3,000,000 different ways. Now think about what that means for someone who has many, many sets of legos collected over a long time span. Not so childish anymore, hm?
Brainteasers, like puzzles, are more of a hobby and past-time than an actual interest, but what the heck. From riddles to murder mysteries, I love these things, because they're just so fun to do. Sometimes the answer is so incredibly complex, you have to pay attention to every last detail to figure it out; but then again, you never know if it's something so simple that you're really just searching too hard. And the fact that you never know if it's either one that makes it so much more exhilarating.
Gaming has been and always will be a part of my life. I've no doubt that I've spent more time playing games than being in school, or any other activity for that matter. I've been playing since I was 4 years old, and I make it a point to play something at least once a day. and whenever I don't play, I make it up during weekends or vacation time. I currently own almost every game system in existence; only missing an Atari, all the Sega systems, the NES, and XBox... oh, and if it counts, the recently released DSi. I wonder how many of these I could get on EBay...
Playing the guitar is my most recently added interest, as I've only started playing less than a year ago. I've learned some classical pieces, though I'll be moving up to more modern songs within a short time span... though I really do need to get some more sheet music. Perhaps, if time allows, I'll learn the violin alongside the guitar, strengthen my ability with both instruments along with my currently rather fragile hands. Practice, practice, practice...
Oh yeah, and one last thing; I've yet to go through and return ratings and whatnot, but I will get around to them before too long! Within the next... few days maybe? Just depends on how things go. It'll be done sooner or later though!
~^~
This is the extent of the profile's length for the time being. It will be expanded upon at a later date.
