Dark Greetings. Welcome to my little corner of the Rave!
I've been on this site under multiple aliases since 2005. I love that it's still up and running after all this time. There's something not only nostalgic about this place, but comforting as well - knowing that while here, I'm surrounded by many like-minded folks who have an appreciation for all things dark and mysterious.
I am a writer.
I love to take various things that I see and experience in real life and weave them into stories filled with drama, romance, suspense, and mystery. My current work in process is a Young Adult Fantasy novel called "Knights of the Wraithmaker". I also have a short story titled "The Trouble With Boredom", which appears in the May 2018 issue of Adelaide Magazine.
The best way for writers to improve on their craft is to read. I'm a bibliophile; I own more books than I should! Thankfully I've had a major uptick in my reading habits over the past year. My favorite authors are J.R. Ward, Stephen King, and Jodi Picoult. My favorite genres are paranormal romance, horror, and YA fantasy/YA paranormal (i.e. "Hush, Hush" by Becca Fitzpatrick).
I'm OBSESSED with music. I will listen to just about everything but I will say my favorite genres are 2000s pop punk, 80s pop rock, and 90s pop. I also do like some hard rock and metal artists. My favorite band is Nightwish, and I *finally* got to see them live for their Decades tour when they came to Cleveland. It was amazing!
I do enjoy watching movies but I haven't been watching them at the theater too much over the past few years. This is mainly due to time, and the fact that movie ticket prices are crazy expensive. I love the MCU, Star Wars, and Harry Potter franchises. Just like with my favorite books, I also love horror movies - especially psychological horror films. Some of my all-time favorite movies I can watch over and over are "The Neverending Story", "Twister", "Scream", "Jurassic Park", and "Liar Liar".
