My name is Aaron. I'm in my mid 20s. I have recently been introduced to VampireRave by a friend, and I'm surprised to not have heard of it sooner.

I don't define myself as goth, but I think I may walk a fine line.
I have always been into industrial/Metal, and always dressed closer to the darker side of it. Mohawk, black polish, chains, black dress shirt with tie, combat boots, piercings, spikes. I don't know what category I would fall into if I had to be categorized, but I do feel that kin are here.

My personality is what some may call odd. I'm a rather intelligent person (INTP personality) that tends to keep to myself. I am quick witted and snappy with a comeback, but I'm often dry and misunderstood. If this is due to my strange sense of humor or possibly that I may be talking over people's heads, I do not know. I just keep to myself and laugh quietly at the present circumstances with jokes I keep in my mind. I'm not one for flippant banter, and it bores me quickly.

One thing I will do is speak long about topics I'm pationate about. I love debate. Not because I like to argue, but because I love the mental stimulation I get from the person/people I'm speaking with. Sometimes I debate about things where I know I'm in the wrong, just to enhance and continue the stimulation. I'm a terrific listener, and can take it all in for hours. I prefer face to face conversations. I'm not a fan of telephones, and the internet only tides me over when I have not seen anyone in person for a while. Don't get me wrong, I love forums and things of that ilk, but I just don't get the same thrill.

I'm not a peppy person. I'm almost always on an even keel, never overly excited or succumbing to a burning anger. I have often been accused of being terribly hard to read, and for some reason I take great pride in that. I often think before I act, and research decisions before coming to a conclusion. That doesn't mean I don't take chances. I just take calculated risks. I make my own choices, and these choices are sometimes not the social norm. I'm a libertarian true to the word.

One thing I do believe is that chivalry is not dead. I'm a gentlemen to the core, and I will remain so till the day I die. I offer my hand to strangers and call them madam/sir. I'll gladly tip my hat at any passer by, and I try very hard not to judge by race or creed.

Regardless of what some females have told me, I refuse to be looked down upon because I hold a door for a lady. I will not be sternly spoken to because I let a woman go before myself or gave up a seat for her. No, it's not because I think she is too weak to open a door or stand for extended periods of time. It's because it had been instilled in me by my forefathers and I wish to retain the teachings of those of nobility. I believe that if more modern men thought the way I do the world would be a better place.

On a lighter note, I love games. Some physical, but mostly mental.

I enjoy reading, and if a topic trips my fancy I will study it as a form of entertainment. I have always picked up far more hobbies than I have time for. As a result I have become competent in many things ranging from playing the guitar to speaking German. The downside of this is I have become truly advanced in precious few talents. Jack of all trades, master of none. I know so far I sound very closed and bookish, but that's not all that I am. Am I a nerd? Yes, and then some.

I go to concerts and raves from time to time. Other than the headbanging and occasional moshing, I'm not much of a dancer. I may be able to spin and jump on the football field, but as soon as I'm on a dance floor I feel odd and out of place. More often than not I'm at the bar or talking. I try to be the guy sitting in the corner with a beer watching everything happen. For reasons I don't really understand I enjoy most the um... experience (for the lack of a better word). It's like the entire coming together of people is an entity upon itself, and I take it in.
