Pepsi, Shasta, and Cocoa...you will forever be a big part of my life. I have cherished every moment with you since you were just puppies. My only regret to you, Pepsi and Cocoa....is that I couldn't be there to hold you close when you left this world behind....it hurts so much....I know you were scared but I'm glad that mother was there with you to whisper that it was ok. I should have come back home...I'm sorry...you were always there for me...I wish I could have been there for you when it counted most..

I am a 19 year old female who is far from home. A stray. I was taken away from my home nearly 6 months ago and thrown into what is referred to as bootcamp. There I found more strays like myself. Some were scared and didn't know what to expect. Some knew exactly what to expect and were either looking forward to it. Some of them just knew how to blend in and hide very well. There were very few of us however, that were completely prepared to give bootcamp their all. These few often became the selected leaders among us. They were punished when we did wrong. We were punished too, don't get me wrong, but they were completely obliterated. Some of these leaders couldn't take the pressure and would crack and therefore be put back with the rest of us. They would grow resentful because they lost their position due to someone else's mistake. The very few that were proud to be here, became leaders, and didn't crack under the pressure were the ones that this stray admired and strived to become like them. This female became one of them. This stray did whatever she could to lighten their load. To be on her face in the dirt when the leader was punished. To share the burden and show the leader was appreciated. This stray was chosen to represent the pack of strays. This stray and 5 others like her were chosen to show off their colors to everyone. This pack grew to take care of one another like the stray had done for the leaders. More would follow the set example and the bond became stronger. When the day came for the strays to be set free and scattered across the country again, it left sorrow in their hearts because they had grown fond of one another. But they knew that just like before, they would be strong and build bonds with other strays just like here in this temporary hell. They had found peace within themselves because they knew they had found the strength deep inside to push themselves and each other to never give up and that nothing really bad lasts forever. This stray wanted to give people a reason to live after going through this. To give them the amazing feeling they had all gone through together. This stray decided to be a United States Navy Corpsman....and from there to be a Behavioral Health Technician. To give wounded soldiers a reason to live, to make them well again and to make them at peace with themselves. Body and Mind.

The leaves are so beautiful. I look forward to the colors in the fall. My favorite Holliday is Halloween most definitely. I love everything that comes with it. Candy, horror movies, dressing up and haunted houses.
