Dark Art, the same as horror, must make an impact beyond that of the physical eye. Blood, violence, gore, sexual sadism, babes in gothic attire draped over coffins or tombs, symbolistic crows or crosses, beautiful flawless males, Gorgeous vampyr...all have become ho hum, snore, I am bored to tears. Even the Zombies. I mean yes, they're dead grotesque creatures. AND? I want something where a beast, no matter how beautiful, will still resort to the roots of a monster. Where it is primal. I want wicked and evil. That creepy cold that lingers in ones soul and bones. Where your eyes cannot look away. I want to feel that the darkness I have just viewed, will follow me home. Into my sleep. Into my dreams. And when I awake, I won't know where I am because of the nightmare. Now that...is Dark Art. And true horror. -AA-
