I've always been drawn to understand the beliefs people hold, be it religion or superstitions. I find it similarities between these belief systems interesting. Belief in something much greater than the individual, belief in mental/spiritual energy overcoming the physical, belief in the everlasting.
I came to this site just looking around for info on vampires. We recently watch the movie 'Interview with a Vampire", based the books by Ann Rice, which I read when I was a teenager. I read much sci-fi and fantasy at that time.
I'm not really into things like myspace or facebook. If you want to talk about spirituality, mysticism or belief systems I would be glad to discuss them with you.
As far as books, music, movies? I like a wide variety of music, don't seem to read many books anymore (favorites are Lord of the Rings, Earthsea, Dune, Conan and other such sword and sorcery stuff.) and typically like action and fantasy movies (Lord of Rings, Harry Potter, Riddick, Matrix, Underworld, Lost Boys etc..)
When we started to have kids, we joined a church and taught them spirituality, morals and ethics. As they grew, I found that they weren't especially religious, but they were very spiritual.
I do technical stuff for a large company. I actually like the work. I spent most of my career working for small companies doing exciting work with groups of dedicated people. After the tech bust several years ago, I found the same environment in a large company and am happy there.
Some ask, why the name Midnight Dreary, but I say, I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, quote the Raven, "Nevermore"
Found this in my garage one day. It scared the kids. It was almost 2 inches long.
This is a video of the kids trying to catch the spider. My son took this video.
