Quote: Never fear quarrels, but seek hazardous adventures.
To be the Knight in armour agleam, the life so grand or so it would seem. People's perception of this built upon ideal never changes. They tend to view the conquering knight returning to his kingdom of people, fist thrown into the air in quintessential victory, lest they instead see the shambles of what was once a man who has abandoned his ideals and wades through life, an honourless wretch. Far too few dwell or understand the truth of the journey one took to become a knight or the many questions one bore through their time as a knight. To be bound to lords and land, to fight in the wars wherein your brothers-in-arms were likely to die if not from injury then from illness. The questions of faith and sanity. But just as much as one questioned, there was an inevitable fact.
Brotherhood, just as today with those of us who have taken to arms in Service, knights knew bonds of brotherhood no one will know without having lived their way of life. These bonds were across many divides, between objecting houses of the so-called 'nobles' and even across the divide of wealth. To take up arms and fight alongside your fellow man to defend what you cared for most, what both of you held dearest in your own terms. There was the true grip of the way of our forebears and their majestic men-at-arms. They met the world in a way so few do.
They took the world for what it was worth and what was before them. There was no idealistic hope of what if, there was no putting off this maneuver or this knowledge of the battlefield until tomorrow. To live their life took a dedication we see now all too rarely. Oftentimes there were poor leaders chosen, and others the best leaders could make wrong calls, but they continued down the paths that were lain before them. Into victory or into defeat.
And with defeat came their release out of the hell they lived, the questions they faced, but never from the will they possessed to keep moving forward. It is this will that brings me to this point and to making my profile today.
I am a twenty-five year old Blacksmith, specializing in the terms of knife and swordsmithing. I spent some of the earlier years of my life working in a shop in Cleveland, Ohio under a Master-Class Blacksmith to keep myself off of the streets and out of trouble when I wasn't in school. Growing into the man I became I attempted to join the United States Marine Corps and for a short time I focused myself towards the USMC Reserve so that I could finish my Education and close out the chapter of my life I would be leaving behind in North Carolina, but found that due to a Hereditary Medical Condition I was no longer able to serve.
Reserving what training and values they instilled upon me as well as the values of the USMC Ret. Sergeant who raised me, I continued to make my way through life. I found my values lined up closest with the itinerant knight, traveling and searching his soul for a place to rest and protect. I found this place with my wife, JocelynRouge, and now we raise our two beautiful children in the Chicagoland Area of Illinois.
I too will meet my life with honour, I will meet it on my terms, and I will grip the blade and twist before I let my enemies escape me to hurt those I care about.
